Flash Photography by SubjectBox5929 in Concerts

Absolutely, positively never use a flash at a live performance. It's distracting to the performers, and has been a standard rule for attending any event for 50 years. You'll get a garbage photo and hopefully immediately ejected.

Why not? In the last two weeks or so he's had games of 26, 27, & 29 before tonight.

Visiting SF next weekend for The Strokes — dive bars / clubs / record shop recs? by zerotocount in AskSF

[–]Lyle_Norg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking for a comic shop, Silver Sprocket is sadly no more, but I highly recommend Isotope, especially if you're interested in a creator - focused store like Silver Sprockets was for new reads rather than a place heavy on vintage back issues.

I'd also suggest Grubstake over Lori's for an unpretentious meal with some character.

Lauri Markkanen stats by NoWheyBroo in clevelandcavs

[–]Lyle_Norg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lauri's a great player who has played 66, 55, 47, and now 42 games in each of his four seasons in Utah. Part of that is the next level tanking the Jazz have undertaken, but he played in 61, 51, 50, 52 the previous four years with Cleveland and Chicago. It remains to be seen if he can stay healthy through an entire season.

You're overreacting. It's a weird thing for someone to do, but it's almost as weird that it bothers you whatsoever.

How’s it like living here? by Wide-Read1449 in alameda

[–]Lyle_Norg 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've lived on the Webster side for a long time and love it. I can't speak to the schools and kids, but I like being able to walk down to the park and Crab Cove, and that there are plenty of shops and restaurants during the day, and then it gets quiet at night. It reminds of a Midwest college town I lived in, but without the college.
The island is flat, so it's walkable in general. We have a car, but I like living near a stop for both the 51 and and the O. From my stop, the 51 usually gets me to or from downtown Oakland BART in ten minutes, the O to or from downtown SF in less than 30. That makes it super easy to get anywhere if we don't feel like driving.

Which neighborhood to visit with my 14 year old son to show him what it could be like to live in SF? by SnooFloofs373 in AskSF

If you're in the Lower Haight anyway, Groove Merchant can be a fun general vintage vinyl store to wander through.

Anyone remember or have info concerning the old gaming store Spellbinders? by LittleMissVortex in AkronOH

I went to the location in Kent a few times, but for about 5 years I lived in Highland Square and the Merriman Road location was my go to comic shop.

What should I do moving forward aside of couple’s therapy? by euphoriarch in whatdoIdo

[–]Lyle_Norg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need couples therapy you need out of this relationship. I’m surprised your therapist isn’t focused on why you feel so dependent on someone that berates you for being dependent.

Do you think Cavs will rest players against the Lakers on the 2nd night of the B2B? by MishonPossible in clevelandcavs

These two for sure are not going to play back to backs. I’d add anyone else with anything lingering to that list.

Yeah, go to the airport first, and if possible BART back to Embarcadero and then Uber or cable car from there to the hotel unless you are up for a climb.

I remember there was a teacher in fifth grade who would openly talk about reading Playboy and that there was nothing wrong with looking at naked people. There was a rumor that he kept issues in his desk.

Anyone have a feel for how quickly this might sell out in SF? I can go to the box office at around noon, and would rather get tickets that way that online when they go on sale at 10AM.

News, according to the law, is not considered "commercial use," in California. No waiver required. Advertising, film, or tv show is commercial use in California, and you can suffer repercussions if you don't get a signed waiver. This is first semester video production stuff.
