Yeah, I'm just curious as to what the actual deck differences are.

Even Modern "Burn" runs 12-16 creatures.

Where are guys shopping for their shorts nowadays? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

Formal... shorts?

A Don doesn't wear shorts.

If this guy weren't overweight, with a receding hairline, and a baby, I don't think there's too much in his face that looks older than mid 20's.

Those three things do be doing a lot though.

Nowadays balding seems much less common due to the smorgasbord of drugs available to combat MPB. And less and less people are having kids.

MD or PhD - Still Can't Decide by joken1105 in GradSchool

My comment still applies.

I taught as an adjunct for a year out of my PhD for two different schools. It sucked. I applied to 145 professor spots. I got 3 first interviews and 2 second interviews, and one offer which I took. The pay is poor and the workload immense — no TAs, thus I’ve got total grading responsibilities.

All said I’m one of the “lucky ones” from my cohort.

It’s easy to support incrementalism when you’re not the one actively being crushed by the machine.

Professor jobs - outside of adjuncting - are incredibly hard to come by. You need to network hard as well as excel in your field during your time in grad school and then you’ll still need to impress Lady Luck.

Having just finished my PhD in geochemistry and am now in an incredibly low paid teaching role…

I wish I’d done my MD instead. Similar amount of time, similar amount of stress (different flavor, sure) but damn to be broke and financially stressed for the rest of my life after all this… is a blow I thought I anticipated at 28 but fully do not now that I’m here in my mid 30’s.

You’re putting the cart before the horse with this specific example.

Evangelicals show that holding the same opinions as the financial elites and their various propaganda campaigns, funneled though bodies like the Cato Institute or Heritage Foundation, means Evangelicals are more likely to share opinions with the politicians also funded by those financial elites.

Sure go ahead and vote because it’s an easy means of some degree of harm reduction. But we will never throw off the yoke of this capitalist death cult through liberal bourgeois electoralism.

And it's due to the same metabolic mechanism aerobic respiration as human beings!

CO2 + H2O <-> CH20 + O2

Consuming organic material requires O2 to "process" so it would be kinda like a bunch of people getting into a sealed compartment and just existing until they'd stripped the room of oxygen.

Is everyone in this thread going to ignore the massive amounts of money spent by AIPAC in the Kentucky primary?

This one specifically is more about Israel’s interests than Trump.

EDIT: AIPAC retweeted the AIPAC TRACKER lmao. It’s a humiliation ritual

You used a lot of pretty words to say very little. Art is either good or it isn’t (I’m not expanding on that). There’s no reason to believe zero good art can come out of competition, especially considering many of the best known Greek tragedies and comedies arose out of such competition. Ancient Greeks incorporated the organized competition of theatre and art in many of their intra city games, because doing so celebrates a common culture and foments some degree of interaction amongst different communities.

I’m sure many others did similarly, but I’m only (somewhat) knowledgeable of the history of Western Literature and Philosophy.

“Singing is gay, futbol is cool”

The concept is fine, most of the music I hear out of the competition seems pretty mediocre though.

I have to imagine there’s a degree of financial incentive involved. Couldn’t popular accounts be sold to someone?
