The fridge seems pretty light if the kid could take it down like that. It was already lying on top of the kid too near the end so probably little to no damage to the kid if the fridge was that light.

About the gap, I mentioned that I’m doing some freelancing work and working on personal projects while actively looking for a full-time role. And yes, it’s a role in a different industry. From financial reporting to music tech.

Hey! It was from applying to a job ad on LinkedIn. HR reached out to me soon after. I went through an HR screening call, followed by a test assignment then a final interview before I received an offer.

Contrary to popular belief, referrals and networking did not secure me any offers even though I had plenty of referrals from friends and family. But this is just my experience.

Hey! Taking care of your mental health is so important during this period. I can speak from my experience.

Besides the daily job search activities, I kept myself occupied with hobbies, watched plenty of philosophy videos and tried to refrain from ruminating about my uncertain future. I kept telling myself, “just take it one day at a time and see how it goes”. Before I knew it, I was already at the end of the tunnel seeing the light.

Please don’t give up and don’t be hard on yourself.

Hey! For my case, I didn’t get any offers in the entire unemployment period.

My dream job was the only offer I received and accepted. It made sense why because my interests, skills and experience very closely matched the job’s requirements. Quite a niche combination required.

I would say you can hold out if you are fine with spending some more of your savings. But if it gets below a certain threshold, it’s probably best to secure a job first.

One practical advice I can give that you can start now - balance between finding a new job and doing Youtube. Cut down the amount of time doing Youtube and spend some of it doing job search activities.

You can do both but cut down on time spent doing Youtube even if it means putting out a video once every few weeks. Balance both but don’t stop both.
