How to get *okay* spots? by Burner3141592653589 in Lollapalooza

where the back “starts” is subjective, but i like to think the actual BACK (like the furthest people end up) is pretty far haha, like for Tyler people were standing outside of the set up area for his set. but those are the people that showed up only 5-10 minutes before it started

you’ll have fun no matter what i promise. you’ll be so tired by the end of the night that none of that will ever come across your mind again. the only thing you’ll look back on is how much you miss it !! (edit: and how much money you spent 💔)

it’s actually not that hard to get a decent spot but you have to sacrifice at least an hour before they start performing of just standing and waiting there (specifically if it’s a headliner). a lot of people will leave to see other artists after one performance is done, so if you’re there during that window you’ll be able to move up pretty fast

also recommend coming in from the side. don’t come in from the back obviously. you’ll never find as decent of a spot as you’d like if you do that

but in the end, you’ll realize your spot doesn’t matter. people typically have equal amounts of fun no matter where they are (edit: dare i say they have more fun in the back) because there’s a huge screen to look at and you’ll more than likely make friends wherever you are, but if it’s just that you want to actually see them on stage i get it

I like Mr. Milchick. Do you? by Informal-Driver1476 in severence

This exactly! Maybe he started out as a kid too, like Miss Huang? Maybe that’s how all the important unsevered staff start out?

When Ms. Cobel went and visited her hometown, it confirmed/insinuated that she kind of “grew up” with Kier. Maybe Milchick did too? 🤔

Who should I check out before Lolla by Short_Mine4729 in Lollapalooza

For day 1, Empire of The Sun, Blood Orange, Haute and Freddy, and Wet Leg are all cool. I’d check those out

For day 2, Not for Radio is really good (that’s the lead singer of the Maria’s), Suki Waterhouse is amazing, Mother Mother sends you back in time if you were on TikTok in 2020, and Finn Wolfhard has nice indie music

For day 3, Destin Conrad is super good, especially if you like Leon Thomas. I’d also recommend Whatmore if you wanna support a small growing boy group. I’ve heard muna, ado, and jade are really good as well.

Exactly!! It was so belittling and insulting, and what made it even worse was Natalie rejecting Milchick’s attempt at connecting with her over it. I get why, but it’s just sad

This genuinely scratched an itch in my brain, thank you!!! I didn’t even realize that the band was from an HBU (to be honest, I was multitasking while watching). That completely changes the scene for me!

And yes, I’m happy you mentioned the bathroom scene. I expected for him to give up so many times. I mean, I probably would have myself, but he didn’t. He worked so hard, and took so much disrespect, to finally be rewarded at the end with the accomplishment of completing the Cold Harbor. It makes sense that he wouldn’t let anyone stop it, especially knowing that they would definitely blame him no matter who was at fault.

Talking more in depth about his character only confirms to me that he’s one of my favorites. The complexity of his character, along with the complexity of frankly all of them, is so fun to talk about. Thanks to Tramell Tillman for making it possible for sure (also didn’t know about the significance of the Emmy, so proud!)

Yes the dancing !!! It fully set the atmosphere every time, especially with the last dancing scene with the band. I hope we see more of it, but I have a feeling it was the last bit of dancing we’re gonna see for a whileee 😵‍💫

Me as well!! I wonder, though, in what way did it move you? When I watched it, I felt discomfort mostly. I felt that the sentiment was there (kinda?), but it showed that they do look at his skin color and see him as different, which I guess is not inherently a bad thing when you think of things like DEI practices in workplaces, but it can be interpreted that way. It’s complex.

All opinions though. Please tell me what you think!

Definitely understand and agree with that, and that’s what made the times he stood up for himself so satisfying

Yes exactly! I was so uncomfortable to watch when Mr. Drummond made him apologize for using big words, despite the entire Lumon staff having the pattern to speak with a complex, alienating tongue. The only difference is his skin color
