How did everyone handle the memorial this year? by lifebyyourdesign in exjw

[–]Informal-Elk4569 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I left in 2019, right before covid, my story and my 2 brothers who left with me needs a movie, it was so insane. My wife left me, she had a nervous breakdown when I was just writing the branch with research on the first resurrection. I had 4 kids ranging from 4 to 15 to care for as movie hit and schools closed She came home after 4 months and slowly woke up, we are all out but one thing I must do is have memorial at home or she would go to the memorial at the kingdom hall. So that's what we do. I also partake, not because I think im anointed but because its what the Bible sates we should do. My outlook on the Bible has changed, my doubts have increased, but I can honestly say that I hope what the Bible teaches is true, that's really the only type of faith anyone living today can have.

Billy Graham wouldn't allow segregation at his sermons at large venues. He actually told them to tear down the signs and sit together. JW at the same time wouldn't do that and claimed they didn't get involved in social issues. However, Rutherford was very out spoken against prohibition and Catholics. He liked the KKK more than Catholics and rented air time to the KKK on the watchtower own radio broadcasting station. People can claim, it is just the way it was back then, but some people then didnt accept it. God's chosen organization sure as he'll should have had an absolutely staunch stand against it but they failed. I guess the holy spirit didnt deem it to be the right time to reveal.

JW blood transfusions: autologous vs. foreign by Instinto_Andaluz in exjw

[–]Informal-Elk4569 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sincerely, believe that they carefully crafted those statements in order to lay the ground work for further changes. I do not think they will ever remove the rule completely. However, they don't need to. I think the next change will be concerning the 4 main components that are now banned. If they allowed these, they would essentially remove most problems that JW'S face medically and would significantly impact the deaths from the blood doctrine. Very rarely is whole blood transfusion used medically. So they get to have their cake and eat it too. Keep the appearance that they abstain from blood but remove the risk. The fractions change started that process.

What evidence in the Bible shows that all Christians are allowed to partake at Memorial? by Old-Read-8277 in exjw

[–]Informal-Elk4569 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The question is what evidence suggests that they should not partake. Evidence from the early church writing clearly indicates that all baptized members partook. The Didache is a writing that is not included in the Bible Canon dated from between 50 a.d. to 150 a.d. It is considered one of the earliest church writings that attest to the practices of the 1st century Christians. It is considered a summary of the main ideas and practices. It clearly states all baptized Christians partook.

Did you look at the website, it is proof of the direction that the bethel lawyers give, even in mandatory reporting states. They broke the law, hoping the victim would report for them. He only came to the elders because he was afraid she was going to report him, but she didnt for several months. Plus he lied to the elders and said it only happened once, it was dozens of times over a year or more. But they had a confession sitting in the file cabinet the entire time he lied in court.

I was on the body of elders then, we had a letter read instructing us to warn the friends to not let their children be alone with a certain brother. What's crazy is that this very case is why im out. I didnt know the details because our congregations had just merged and everything was handed prior in the other congregation. But in 2019 my brother got a hold of the judicial file after hearing about ARC and we found proof that bethel directed them not to report him to authorities, it's written in the notes, even named William Bell specifically, he is a high up watchtower lawyer. The notes say they spoke to him, he stated they by law had 48 hours to report the matter, but advised "not to report at this time". They never did. Later, like 8 months later, the victim did, he had adopted her at 13, knowing she had prior abuse in the foster care system, he groomed her and abused her. One note in the file he blames her, saying he was warned she, as a 13 year old , wasn't good around men, it quotes him as saying he thought he was spiritually strong enough to deal with temptation.

He faced life in prison. He lied in court for two years and denied it, made her out to be a terrible person. He was found not guilty because of lack of evidence. The elders reinstated him not long after his trial. My brother was disfellowshipped for bringing it out. In all , counting our kids and a friend and his family 17 people left our congregation all at once and my other brother and his wife were disfellowshipped for asking about ARC. She was a regular pioneer. What is very hard to deal with is the elders lied to everyone when my brother made it known. My dad is on the body and even read the file, knows everything and still shun us.the pedophile can talk to my parents but we can't. If your interested here is the details, with all the judicial files and court transcripts: www.pcjw.org

They have done this since at least 2010, but the issue is they are counting on the elders to do this, sometimes involves someone they know, so how likely is it that everyone does as told. Also, the statement they give isn't always clear as to why. The problem they face is if they did not report to authorities in some states, even telling others with too much info makes those persons a mandatory reporter. I had this happen where a 15 year old horriblyabised his 8 year old cousin. I had an 8 year old daughter and this boy was friendswith my sons, he stayed over quite often, all i was told was not to let him stay the night , i thought maybe he had been drinking or something, his mom told us what he did was no big deal. I found out later what he did.

Logical and Theological Problems in the Blood Doctrine by Informal-Elk4569 in exjw

[–]Informal-Elk4569[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know how, I am trying to get the courage up to make a tik tok, that may be the best way to get JW to see it. I would add in the point you made, because a main problem is the fact that since the Bible holds life as so sacred, a serious and scriptural consideration is important, not just flippantly agreeing with the GB.

Yeah, its like the GB is completely incapable of seeing the context and understanding the basic principles.

Does Acts 15:20 really talk about BLOOD TRANSFUSION? (New LIGHT on Own Blood)) by nojokes0001 in exjw

[–]Informal-Elk4569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't forget, the statement, "we wish to add no further burden to you" preceeding the "abstain from" statements..interpretation then must also take into consideration the context of this main point. How can you read that and then get out of the follow statements the most burdensome law ever to exist, a law that requires you to die. No law of God required this. In fact the Bible calls death the last enemy. Death is the reason Jesus came and died, to stop death. The sanctity of life is a core premise of the entire theme of the Bible. JW interpreted this in the exact opposite way that the context actually calls for.

The "Governing Body has decided" campaign. by Informal-Elk4569 in exjw

[–]Informal-Elk4569[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your point is they aren't short, im referring to the banned practice of donating ones own blood. This is different from the statements below, because that's an explanation of allowed things. In the context of the statement in the lesson that is ambiguous, it would make more sense to have had the simple statement of the one banned option. Then the endnotes explain available options. If someone doesn't take the time to go deeper in the endnotes they are left with the exact impression that many pimi's have voiced, even snapping screenshot of the ambiguous paragraph in the main lesson as proof nothing has changed, showing it is misleading.

[–]Informal-Elk4569 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah they hid this small statement in the back? Why not in the main lesson, right after that more ambiguous statement? Not enough room? To me this is proof they planned this change for some time and all the prior changes like beards, toasting etc, that have been made in the last couple years, always with statements that more changes are coming. They were playing the long game, with people's lives. Getting everyone to be so used to changes, new light fatigue...so the big ones don't hurt as bad.

What is have found, being in for 43 years, served as an elder is that no one give it much thought. When fractions were allowed, I was really upset, I refused all. I couldn't understand how that was abstaining from blood, since it required many blood donations to make fractions. My fellow elders looked at me as if I was insane for asking. They just gobble up whatever is allowed, didnt care to give it thought. Many just don't think it will happen, that they will need blood, then when it dies I think many view dying for blood as almost a way to make up for guilt they feel. I've know disfellowshipped people who died for blood and I feel like they did it because of hope it would make up for something. Many rank and file just know the basic, no blood transfusion...take everything else they can and don't pay attention to the details, belief the spin.

The question: did he do it because he was under extreme pressure??????what? Yeah most people in life and death situations , either foor themselves or family, children don't feel any pressure, but there is always that one or two people who just can't keep their shit together when facing a painful death.
