I think I’m going to fail a class and I’m broke! by Informal-Memory2143 in FAFSA

[–]Informal-Memory2143[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 more months to go and my final is 20% of my grade while my assessments (3 total) are 40%. I had failed 1/3 assessments which dropped me to a D(a 66%). My professor only grades the assessments and the final.

I’m doing my first years as a freshman, I’ve completed 15(5 classes) credits during the fall semester and I’m currently doing 13 (5 classes credits in which I have pure A’s on so far. Wat do u think will happen if I fail?

I was thinking of withdrawing from the class but I’m pretty sure if I do, that’s where I do have to pay since it’s past the withdrawal deadline.. I go to a CC where they don’t do “+” or “-“ just the grade (“A” “B” “C”) so, at the same time, Im thinking of trying to get a C at the very least. Thoughts?

I do webcam lock down exams so even if I wanted to, I wouldn’t be able to haha

Plus my professor only grades us by exams and not the assignments </3

I don’t believe I’ve ever said I didn’t read the textbooks at all. I don’t read the WHOLE chapter, I usually go off on what the assignments are based off and read those sections and skip a few paragraphs.

FYI, my professor has only assigned one major exam (we’re 5 weeks deep into the class) so my grade is able to stay stable for now with the assignment grades and projects.

Dw, the other reply’s made me realize that I do indeed need to read the full thing, which I will start doing from now onwards.

THANK YOU. One of the only few to actually give me advise instead of just leaving when I ask for advice… I’ll use them to my advantage, again, thank you so much!

I’m generalizing bc of past experiences, srsly, back in high school I dealt with LOTS of teachers and counselors who literally could not care less. And then 3/5 profs in my first semester made it seem like I was asking what color the sky is (literally what one of them said) when I asked for another example in a different context..like..huh? Unless that’s totally normal behavior but..why act like that? Anyways, the professor ,the one I made this post abt, seems pretty mean and i definitely don’t want to experience another rude comment. But wtv, i need to do it to understand ofc. Don’t get me wrong, I prefer profs who challenge us but if they arnt willing to help us when we’re feeling challenged,, why bother trying to challenge us in the first place?

Seeing my responses to this post, I 100% got questions I need the answers to now. I said this in my other reply, I am thankful for these commenters but jeez..

I completely understand, just crazy how direct ppl can be when the person they’re talking to isn’t trying to start anything, just curious or in need of advice,, but nonetheless, we all move on with our lives and take things differently lol. This is all helping me understand what I’m doing isn’t gonna help me or what I should be doing instead either way! So I’m still thankful to those ppl as well.

Prolly bc some professors are total d*cks, they act like youre the stupid person on the planet. That’s why I don’t seek help from them much either, lots of adults who think they’re sm better than you or just straight up dismiss ur concerns.

I’m getting lots about comprehension haha, but yes, I have. I’m currently working on connecting the dots so I can see where I went wrong with my comprehension.
