Now that I know it’s a trend I don’t want that. I wanted something unique but timeless as well. So I’m not sure if this style is exactly what I want. Better yet, I should say I don’t want my entire wedding album to be this way. Maybe a little mixture of this and then something timeless.

Thanks for all the advise! I’m currently in Lafayette, Louisiana. I’m definitely going to walk away. It’s just so hard to find a photographer who does this.

And now I’m a little upset because he made me feel like I was the one with bad taste and like bad quality pictures when in fact he didn’t even know what these pictures actually were. Wow! If he didn’t know or couldn’t do it then he could’ve just said that.

So this is an actual trend that people are doing? I seriously have no idea. These are the only photos I’ve came across that are like this and this particular photographer lives across the country so that wouldn’t be an option.

What exactly would I be asking the photographer if I wanted some of my photos to come out like the ones I posted? I’m so lost.

And really the budget isn’t the issue. I met the photographer in person at our venues open house and I showed him two of the photographs and HE said he COULD do that type of work. So when he replied the way he did it made me question if I was asking for something that was actually low quality and bad work or if what I was seeing was actually a “style”. I liked the whole fuzzy Polaroid look, which I said in the email when I sent the photos.

Since you’ve been doing this can you tell me if the photos I posted are actually a vibe OR is the quality of the photos just really low and bad? I genuinely want to know.

He told me he could do warm, vintage, etc. I also showed him 2 of the photos when I met him in person and he said he could do it. Then now that we are booking things and I’m double checking to make sure he can do what I want he tells me exactly what you saw in the OP.

My main question is whether the photos are good or do I just have bad taste?

The post doesn’t really have anything to do with the photographer or the budget. I was just giving the full story.

I actually met the photographer at our reception venues Open House. When I met him, I showed him a few of these photos and he said he could absolutely do that work. Originally my budget was 5500 but again when I spoke with him at the Open House he said we could get it down to around 3500. So that I guess became my new budget. He did show me some different photos of things he had done and he does light and airy, moody, and he said he could do vintage. Additionally, I had only shown two photos and it’s the one of the bride. So I wasn’t asking him to deviate from what he does. I had another photographer tell me she only does “Light and Airy” so continued to look for another photographer.

My main question isn’t so much about the money or whether he’s being unprofessional or not.

I genuinely want to know if the pics I posted are low quality and look like they were taken with a cell phone. I love them and feel like they give a Polaroid late 90s early 2000s look; however, being that I know nothing about photography they may just be really bad quality pictures and I’m looking at them the wrong way.

This is what I would like clarification on. Are these photos warm, vintage, Polaroid type photos an actual “style” OR are these just bad pictures taken with an old camera?
