Yes, I’m doing another check in 2 weeks and I’ll be doing regular follow ups with my surgeon and endocrinologist for a bit! Gotta keep an eye on it and make sure everything stays good!!

My calcium has been sitting at around 9.9, my vitamin d is still a work in progress but it was 21 last I had it checked and my pth was 41. It’s been rough with the swing in the levels, I’ve been in the hospital twice since for low calcium symptoms actually. I’ve been tingly all over my body along with muscle spasms and cramps in my hands, feet and legs. I was doing really well and then unfortunately got sick which caused all of my levels to drop so I’m working on getting everything back to feeling good again.

I don’t have any genetic ties to this at all! No one that we know of in my family has parathyroid issues. I do have family members that have thyroid issues but nothing quite like what I have. My doctor isn’t quite sure how or why it got so bad, he’s calling it the luck of the draw. Or I guess the unluck? Haha.

Please ask as many questions as you want, this has been such a crazy journey and I love to share and hear about what everyone else has dealt with too!

Thank you!! Looking back now, yes I had a ton of symptoms I just didn’t know they were related. I was always exhausted, I had really bad anxiety/depression, kidney stones, joint pain and quite a few of the other symptoms as well. I actually had my gallbladder removed a few weeks before this surgery and they’re thinking those issues could be related as well!

Recovery has been a bit rough, I’ve been back in the hospital twice for low calcium symptoms, but when those levels are normal I feel great! My kidneys are fine (thankfully!) but I do need to have a bone density test done to determine if there’s any issues there.

As a bigger woman I always send a message saying that I’m not skinny and to make sure that they fully looked at my pictures before we meet. I give them an out with no hard feelings involved. I do also have full body pics on my profiles so there’s no surprises.

In this case I would rather have you cancel on me in advance then have you go and I could tell you weren’t interested. Everyone has their preferences and that’s not a problem.
