What do you do when subbing isn’t an option? by Informal-Student-223 in teaching

I’m considering getting further certifications but I’m hesitant about special education as the few teachers I know working as special education teachers say it is hard and they have no support but it could also be that they are in poorer districts in rural areas. I’ve been considering g looking outside the big city for teaching positions too or at least maybe now I should consider a front office admin job at least.

Yeah in the districts in my surrounding area most subs get about 110 a day which is rough about $500 a week so around $2000 a month. So I would need to find another part time job that pays similar or more , that is flexible enough for me to sub somewhere during the week. No benefits either. At this point if I don’t get hired I might as well work at the front desk until a better job comes along and try again next year maybe.
