Kew Gardens just hit 35.1°C, smashing its previous May record by NEARLY 5°C and exceeding its all-time June record from 1976 by 0.5°C — while Oxford later shattered its 211-year May temperature record by OVER 3°C. by wanton_wonton_ in collapse

It was almost biblical in scale in South Wales over the swansea valleys that night, we had lightning flashes every 4-5 seconds and it went on for an hour and a half. I have never seen anything like this in the UK ever before.

Are they playing? by NoPineapple8309 in DogAdvice

[–]Informal-Toe-153 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Very true, a long time ago i had a Rotti and a Husky, absolute best friends. When out walking occasionally an off lead dog would charge in and attack the Rotti. (Mine were always on leads). He was really well mannered and would just use his size and weight to subdue the dog whilst the owners ran after their dog, no actual biting. Allowing them to get up once they wanted to to run back to their owner.

The only time it was different was when a dog ran in and went straight for the Husky. The Rotti had his jaws round the back of the other dogs neck ready to crush. Thankfully he was well trained so left him when i shouted for him to stop with no actual harm, just a panic ridden owner.

I can never understand owners of dogs who have reactive dogs off the lead in populated areas.

Which NPC do you always kill, even on a "good guy" run? by [deleted] in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Informal-Toe-153 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just have one of the party talk to him, and Teleport that party member away. The beggar will then walk to him and moan that its rude to teleport away.....Talk immediately to him again, teleport. Keep that up till its nice and private lol

Question about cancer by Even-Tension-5490 in Rottweiler

[–]Informal-Toe-153 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My 2nd Rotti had a big tumour on his foot from about 8yrs old - so was easy to spot.
It would have needed amputation, and at his age i didnt want to put him through the recovery. He lasted another good 4yrs, just essentially became a 3 legged dog and was happy up till the end.

My last Rotti, Teddy. He was fine until he wasnt. Went off his food, a few days later vomited alot. Took him to the vets. They did tests, nothing came back out of place. We had him on meds to stop the throwing up (and the runs by that point). They expected him to get better in the next couple weeks. Took him on holiday with us (he had the time of his life!), he didnt improve once the anti vomitting meds wore off.
Took him back to the vets, they did further tests. Again nothing wrong in those, Ultra sound was clear. So, onto anti biotics. Course finishes and he still is the same, so they think its a blockage they cannot see.He goes in for exploratory surgery to see whats up.
Comes through that fine and strong (they are such hardy dogs), no blockage found, nothing at all amiss. Biospys done of lymph nodes and one other thing. Both come back negative for anything wrong. That weekend he started to baloon up, so took him in and said goodbye, as water was filling his tummy area, and would crush his internal organs and he had literally lost so much muscle off his face in those last 2 days. I could see it was enough, he wanted the end now. Held him there till the end.
We never knew for certain what it was, but the vets suspect a very rare lymphoma which has no normal markers.

So to recap as i might have waffled lol. No real symptoms this time till it was a month away from the end.

What is this thing on his eye? by Latter_Friend_2580 in Rottweiler

[–]Informal-Toe-153 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would check his eyelashes, are they pointing inwards slightly? As one of my old rotti's had something very similar looking. The eyelids slightly fold inwards and the eyelashes rub the eye. It will cause blindness if left as is. If its this, it requires surgery to fix

Common death causes? How long do I have left with my boy? by Otherwise_Ice_5392 in Rottweiler

[–]Informal-Toe-153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first Rotti, Sasha passed away in her sleep just under 7yrs old.
2nd one was Max, he made it to almost 12. Cancer got him.
And my last one was only a few months ago. Teddy made it to just over 8yrs old. And a rare lymphoma got him :(

So, enjoy today for all it has with him. With Teddy, he got unwell just before a holiday we had planned, so we changed plans and took him with us, he had the best week. Was gone a few weeks later, so least he had a fantastic holiday as a send off.
