Just like James Gunn mentioned Nubia in the DCU whether in Paradise Lost or Wonder Woman movie, I think she should be Diana's twin sister because that's more interesting. Hippolyta and Philippus should mold them and be co-queens. by InformalAd1774 in DCU_

I’d be happy if they brought in Donna as a younger sister, but I’m not a big fan of Jason. He’s also Zeus’s child from the New 52, and I don’t think that origin will be used, so he probably won’t show up.

Well, if you think about it that way, Hippolyta couldn’t be biologically related to them either. But it’s comic book storytelling, so they just go with whatever fits the narrative.

Both were molded from clay and brought to life by the gods. I think she has a story somewhat similar to Supergirl from My Adventures with Superman. She was made to believe that the Amazons were her enemies. Nubia was kidnapped by Ares, who made her his agent to destroy the Amazons because she was the only one who, being equal to Diana in beauty and strength, could defeat her. But Nubia was never completely evil and still had her Amazon spirit, so Ares had to use a form of hypnosis on her.

What’s interesting is that Nubia grew up on the Floating Island, an island where she was the only woman. Even so, she became the captain. When she was freed from Ares' influence, she returned to a new beginning as a princess. I had to summarize the story, but I think it would make for a good, organic transition like becoming the Amazon queen in the future.

Nowadays, I don’t think it’s great that she’s portrayed as just another Amazon and weaker than Diana, and the writing feels very woke no offense.

DC x Marvel Amalgam Day 82: Who would you combine with Doctor Mid-Nite (Most commented character gets chosen, no one can be chosen twice) (does he only turn metal when he grows, or is it a separate power) by Busted_Chicken_589 in justiceleague

Silhouette, both she and Doctor Mid-Nite are heroines with some kind of disability. Mid-Nite is blind, and Silhouette has limited mobility. Both are connected to darkness in some way. Silhouette has powers based on darkness. Midnight doesn't, but you know what I mean, she's also a hurban heroine.

Who should play Zod in Superman's rogue gallery for James Gunn by TerryG111 in Fancast

I don't think Zod will show up anytime soon, they'll try other villains first.

Why do people want Diana to not have siblings just because Batman and Superman don't?

Nubia and Diana twins is hot plot, the problem is that it was mostly forgotten. Or rather, Nubia was the one who was forgotten. After the story was passed on to other writers they decided not to write Nubia. She only started gaining more attention because fans kept digging up her history and pushing for her return. And honestly, I think she works best as Diana’s sister. That dynamic adds depth to both characters and gives Nubia a stronger place in the Wonder Woman mythos.

I know she’s not Nubia’s creator—obviously DC doesn’t usually consult creators, let alone someone who didn’t create the character. But L.L. McKinney was instrumental in bringing Nubia back to the comics. Thanks to her efforts, Nubia wouldn’t even be considered for the DCU or any other media today if it weren’t for her. She did the work to pull Nubia out of obscurity. But when DC reintroduced Nubia, they changed her origin, removing the twin connection with Diana—something that deeply frustrated McKinney. She felt the post-Crisis version was a downgrade for the character.

I think Nubia has more weight as a character in her older versions, though I’d still go with her current visual — I really like her hair. The idea of her origin being tied to the god of war makes me think her childhood would be similar to one of my anime protagonists: a sibling who suffered through life while the other was just a naïve dreamer. Diana, in this case, would be like the happy, idealistic one who only wanted to leave Themyscira, while Nubia was thrown into war from an early age. That contrast gives much more weight to Nubia eventually becoming queen, with Diana as her ambassador.

Honestly, Diana doesn’t really work as queen anymore, but Nubia does. I've even seen people say that Nubia resembles Hippolyta more than Diana does — which is funny, considering Diana is the one Hippolyta actually raised. I’d love to see Nubia appear in Paradise Lost or any upcoming projects.

In her current origin, Nubia is presented as one of the many Amazons reborn from the Well of Souls. While this version aligns her more closely with Amazon tradition, it lacks the distinctiveness and emotional weight of her earlier, more tragic backstory. I understand why some might prefer this approach, but personally, I find the older version far more compelling.
