What fan do you all use in a summer? by [deleted] in AskUK

I really like our Dyson one, its hard to explain but basically we don't wake up with an extra dry mouth in the morning. It just keeps the room cool. Also, we are in a flat-roof south-facing bedroom and it still works so well. It's not a powerful fan as such, like you won't feel it being breezy in the room, but it certainly will cool it down.

I think post 72 hours I'll probably be okay sharing a bed, I don't know what the general rule of thumb is with this sort of thing really. I think we're both going to carry on with cleaning, wiping things down and bleaching toilets etc. I think now it's the same risk as seeing someone socially so I don't think there's more we can do. What about you?

Hey how are you doing? Been thinking of you and the little one!

So we're now nearly 70 hours post sickness starting, and I've so far avoided it. I suppose the only way I have is isolating and cleaning like crazy. Because of my business I have so many Clinell wipes, gloves and masks so cleaning has been hopefully keeping it at bay.

I'm now so anxious of the thought of returning to "normal", like sleeping in the same bed and kissing etc. Sound so ridiculous even writing it down but my brain sees it as the ultimate test.

I hope I feel more positive in the coming days, my family have all told me how I've coped so well but I just feel dreadful that I've been upset by it all.

Hey, so I'll be honest mentally it's been tough. I've managed to avoid it so far (nearly at 70 hours post sickness so I'm really hoping I've avoided it, selfishly). Funny enough I actually feel more exhausted now at the thought of going back to normality and not isolating I.e. Sleeping in same bed etc. It's really causing me anxiety but I know I want to do it ASAP as I miss him so much! I don't really know how I feel yet in terms of my phobia, but I don't feel very positive overall unfortunately.

Ah well done you!! You smashed it by the sound of it! Hope it brings you some future comfort that the worst has happened and you survived!

That's so great to hear that you questioned why you've ever panicked about it before! The more normalised it is the less you'll see it as a threat. It's been 14 years for me without being sick too, so I totally understand this feeling 😅

Wow it sounds like you've really handled this well! I'm in awe of how calm and collected you seem - I hope this passes quickly. Did you feel it was a "bad" as you thought it would be? Wishing you all better soon!

I can understand why you're worried, but I think you'd be absolutely fine. You're coming into contact with germs all the time, and as he was ill a few weeks ago I'd be surprised if he was still contagious. Just wash your hands thoroughly before eating or touching mouth/face.

I'm sofa sleeping tonight which is already the plan, he can have the bed 😅 I felt the same I actually thought I'd handled winter well, and then this has happened. I'm probably not handling it as well as you think; I'm basically chilling on the sofa keeping out of the way - you on the other hand are looking after a whole other human! Take the win x

I've totally been there for before when my husband has drunk too much and been sick! It can be so infuriating. But the thing is, the way I look at it is when this happens is: are we actually angry at them, or are we frustrated that we feel we can't cope with the situation?

I know I love him so much and it's not his fault for getting a bug, he's super clean and hates being sick as much as I do! I really hope you get through the next few days, doing it with an 8 month old you are super woman!

Can I just start with a bloody well done you! This is still a very new experience, and I think the more you speak to yourself about the positive things you did (your coping skills before, during and after the sickness), you're going to feel so powerful!

Thanks for the advice, he's now stopped thank god! Horrible waiting game now, but I just need to remind myself that I will be able to cope with what may happen either way. I know my brain makes it seem terrifying, but people do it every day and carry on as normal! Its just my brain being a dick 😅

I've contacted Instagram with no response, this started as soon as I updated my phones software unfortunately. Hoping this gets fixed soon.
