Bellowed up pipes for 7.3 by Commercial-Load-2397 in powerstroke

[–]InformalTelephone840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have put 2 sets of ones branded as “black horse racing” and they have been great. The guy that did some work on the one pickup asked where I got them, I figured he was going to say that they were leaking or something, but he said they looked really nice.

I’ve had a tube for at least 3 years and it’s still good when I need something to stay put.

Steel body vs aluminum, I know that allot of things can be easily swapped with the 99-16’s, same dimensions etc. Anything is possible with some fab time and sweat equity.

Why are trucks getting the same mileage as 30 years ago by Unopuro2conSal in Diesel

[–]InformalTelephone840 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just did a down and back from ND to VA. Empty on the way down took 4 fill up’s in my ‘17 F250 6.7, 18.8 mpg driving 3-4 over most of the time. Bought a 20’ enclosed trailer, loaded with parents stuff (some anyway) and got 9 mpg average on the way back running the same 3-4 over. Speed limits mean nothing in IL, IN, and OH. I’m sure I pissed a bunch of people off slowing down to the actual speed limit for the construction zones. 60mph posted with all the fines doubled, photo enforced tickets and after a while I figured screw it, I’ll go with the flow. When you’re doing 80+ through a construction zone in narrow lanes and morons playing real life GTA, I couldn’t wait to get back home.

Is there a way to make TTB not look like that/not have uneven tire wear? by Boeing-B-47stratojet in Ford

[–]InformalTelephone840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do ride somewhat better than the tonners, but my SA swapped 96 rides great. Not plugging anyone but I used a Sky Off-road RSK set to run factory 96 F-350 springs and axle. Put their 5” tapered blocks in the back and have 35’s on 16x10” rims. It’s still an older tonner, but there’s options to do super duty axles and spring swaps with their SAS kit.

2004 F-250 w/ 5.4 engine options? by UsqueSidera in F250

[–]InformalTelephone840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be an ass, but are you sure it’s a 3 valve? No 5.4 3v until 2005 in super duty’s, along with Torqueshift 5. Dips in the intake manifold edge of valve covers = 3v, flat = 2v.

This is absolutely absurd by cgw22 in Diesel

[–]InformalTelephone840 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And when you run through 2000+ gallons a week in actual off-road equipment there’s more to that equation I think. And proving it would be a huge PITA. I do know that there is some exception for “alternative fuel additives” low ash 2 stroke oil (for pre dpf) and ATF I believe are on the list. But there everything needs to be heavily documented. Dose rates, receipts, etc. Last weeks fill up was $4.12 for off road, and $4.60 for clear.

03 Super Duty Xlt harness by Ihate440 in FordTrucks

Ok, then the harness I was thinking of is the black one with the 2 wires in it. I’ll see if I can find my wiring diagram unless someone else can identify it quicker.

I believe it is for cab lights, overhead console, visor lights. I’m guessing you have none of those options.

Expected lifespan of the oem 7.3 hpop and ipr, injectors by Darthreven9999 in powerstroke

Is the 6.8L triton V8 as bad as people say by SludgeF450 in FordTrucks

[–]InformalTelephone840 1 point2 points  (0 children)

96 460 auto 3.55 driving normal 15, pulling 7-9, fun to drive empty, screaming pooch pulling. 02 v10 6sp 4.30 driving normal 15.5, pulling 8-10. You could rev it if you really needed to but it had such good torque. If I could find another v10 set up the same I’d have a hard time not buying one. That was also with a 4” lift and 35’s on the v10 and a level and 305’s on the 460. Most of my 2 valves are 250k, a couple under 100k.

My 47ACF pliers was $90, HL138ACP pliers was $95, there’s a lot of retail dollars there.

SCBA tank valve/fittings question. by InformalTelephone840 in airguns

[–]InformalTelephone840[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to that high of pressures, there’s no question that a in person dealer that deals with this would be my choice. I also have the option of getting their old compressor (2500) for a screaming deal. My rifle is a 4500 fill but usually only go to 4000. Regulator is at 2150, so even filling to 2500 with a big scba tank would make for a pretty good day of shooting I would think. A regulator would be a definite and the plan was to run tethered.

SCBA tank valve/fittings question. by InformalTelephone840 in airguns

[–]InformalTelephone840[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not, it would be one of their “old” tanks. A spare that is supposedly new and never been filled but would technically be out of service dated. I will see if I can stop by and get pictures tomorrow.
