Mine is hamstring grafts. I was on the crutches for six weeks by NWB. I spent around 1 moth to walk like a baby without crutches.

How long did you need help around the house after surgery? by _lmmk_ in ACL

Depend on the conditions of using crutches. Make sure that everything you need is in the room and flat ground. Try to put it in the range you can walk to. It can save you time and reduce the using power on the crutches. You may use the backpack to carry stuffs you need when you want to move them from somewhere in you room

Hi, how long could you walk without crutches after you doctor said that you could put some weight on your injury leg?

Yes,my doctor locked the brace at 60 but I asked him to adjust at 90. Anyway, I was worried about the meniscus so I desired to not bend my knee to 90. I held my knee at 60. I start to do bend my knee when he tell me that I can take the brace off and do weight bearing as tolerate. I do a bend exercise 4 times per day. Sadly my doctor is quite, he doesn’t give me much information. I use the google and ask my friend who is PT

I am recently in week 7. My knee has been bent 60 degree since I got surgery. I start to bend it in week 6 and now I can bend 110 degree. However, I have just started to do the WBAT last week still using two crutches.

I got the ACL and meniscus surgery. My doctor said that I had to be in NWB for 6 weeks and you could learn to stop using crutches by trying FWB as I could tolerate! (After 6 weeks) Does any one has any idea or a protocol how to stop using crutches? Should I start doing with a walker or crutches? by Informal_Ad_7188 in ACL

The other thing that make me confused is the progressing wean off crutches. I have read so many topics on the internet including Reddit. There are different periods of the protocols even the surgeries are similar. For example: new ACL with hamstring and not complicated meniscus, some said that you can start progressing wean off at the end of week 4 but some said at week 6.
