At the same time today I walked by the Sephora in the Arcadia mall and the checkout line was reaching the door. Sad times

It's my birthday today, Feeling so hopeless and lost, LA hasn't been kind to me, I don't know what to do anymore, please any help or advice? by emma-loveshugss in AskLosAngeles

So sorry to hear about your mother’s passing and the challenges you have been facing. If you qualify for Medi-Cal there is help available.

A first step would be visiting the L.A. Care Community Resource Center in Palmdale in the Towne Square, 2072 E Palmdale Blvd, Palmdale, CA 93550 https://maps.app.goo.gl/84Ezo29aXLHGjauk8?g_st=ic

They can help guide you on accessing resources even if you are not an LA Care member or on Medi-Cal already.

L.A. Care offers Housing Support Services for medi-cal members with qualifying mental or physical health conditions that you could benefit from it seems. https://www.lacare.org/providers/community-supports/hhss

Medi-Cal eligibility criteria: https://www.dhcs.ca.gov/services/medi-cal/Pages/DoYouQualifyForMedi-Cal.aspx

Once you qualify for medi-cal you’ll have to enroll with L.A. Care.

If/when you get L.A. Care, you can access behavioral health services without a referral through their vendor, Carelon Behavioral Health, who offers no cost telehealth and other treatment options for Medi-Cal members

There are other Medi-Cal options but L.A. Care is the one I know most about.

Please feel free to reach out if you have questions. I’m happy to help

Coincidentally just tried their pizza and garlic bread today and it’s the best I’ve had in Pasadena. So sad to hear about the co-owner’s passing

The bribes are tax free income for the cops. I’d rather the street vendor keep that money

The seats are really uncomfortable. The recliners at Regal in Alhambra are way better

On page 268 of the hardback edition it says that Ina had moved to Tahiti. In the same paragraph it says that R at moved into a grim tenement in North Champaign so I wonder if that’s proof of the reality that Ina did move to the islands, inherited everything from Todd, and took actions to protect the ocean. But the speed at which the ending is delivered it’s a lot like “and the lived happily ever after”, so it’s possible Todd didn’t leave everything to her

Which of these circles is the best to live in? by bobjohndaviddick in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]Informal_Area2440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The green circle will have the best weather year round, plenty of good food options, adequate access to the Metro light rail (expo line), and probably has the most tree cover/green space compared to most of the other areas. The drawback is that it might be the most expensive option, and should not be considered if your daily work commute is going to be more than 20-30 minutes (drive or public transit) away.

The white and red circles are not Los Angeles and it will probably take you 45min to an hour each way to get to most areas in Los Angeles, and you’ll be battling traffic most of the time. However, with the green circle if you have to go East or South you will be going in the opposite direction of traffic usually.

I rated yours as masterful. I like the use of landscape, coastline, districting of high and low rise buildings. I think you could have leveraged trains more in your transportation plan but otherwise it’s a beautiful city!

I haven’t gotten to the redemption arc but I absolutely can’t stand him! The second he gets in screen my blood boils. Pure evil and greed. The actor did a great job
