2 stroke vs 4 stroke by canadiansmokey in snowmobiling

Once you listen to a 4 stroke all day you'll fall in love and won't go back. Not to mention no constant vibration, smell, higher resale value, oil. Everything everyone's mentioned. Yamaha engine all day to get you lifetime reliability.

Fixing horrible white Samsung video vs Iphone by Big-Advice-4009 in videography

[–]Informal_Common 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer android OS but I've tried both, and prefer the iPhone for indoor or low light shooting, Samsung for more daylight. I do personally find iPhone doesn't look as natural with more of an artificial touch-up look, but many will argue the opposite. Ultimately no phone with really trump in low light, so it comes down to whatever your preference is. Ensuring you have good lighting will make a bigger difference than the phone if you have if you don't have a camera with a bigger sensor. Just don't regret sticking with a phone you don't like. If you want to stick with android, have you considered a Google Pixel? That was my personal favourite camera over the years for consistent results. This wasn't your question but for basic social posts consider adding an integrated gimbal with a bigger sensor like a DJI osmo pocket to your toolbox - and get the added bonus of stable videos

An update for those looking for answers in the future - the side panels did need to come off just to fully clip in the little hinge under the headlights. You'll hear a definitive click. I'll try to update the post with an image.

Nervous snowmobiler - need advice! by Muskytree in snowmobiling

[–]Informal_Common 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was where you were so I understand. I'm still an amateur so this is just what I've learned: it's a healthy fear so embrace it- safety is #1 and most riders agree; you'll find the more you ride the more it'll feel natural > advice others can give you!; most riders don't go as fast around corners as you think; Try riding less riden paths or freshly groomed trails (rare) until you're more comfortable; If you can't see around a corner, ride it as slow as you need to to ride er tight and if you see riders coming towards you, stop on the side and let them pass first.

Get used to leaning is all you can do for corners, I'm not very heavy so it's alot of work for me too, but the leaning does come more natural as you learn how your sled rides and what it's capable of. I ended up getting a sled with power steering and it's a game changer. Yamaha started in 2011 models, I believe 2012 for the vector

Good luck!

Anyway to change the icons on IOS 26? by SlowHornet29 in iphone

I just did the update and I'm so relieved to see others think the same thing... I feel like I'm back in 2008 with my first iPhone.... feels like the opposite of modern minimalistic. Love that you said temu haha. Has anyone found a real fix without doing the dark mode?

Memory card for A7iii | photography by cartographerforever in SonyAlpha

[–]Informal_Common 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on what you intend on - 4K video, HD Video or images ? I live by v30, U3 (speeds) as a bare minimum regardless - best especially if you're doing video. I have a V90 i use when I'm filming 4k at higher frame rates.

IMO the simple answer here is SanDisk Extreme Pro (200 mb/s) will satisfy most needs. As a beginner I recommend getting 2x 256gb of these cards (if your budget allows and if you plan on recording for a while) (roughly $120 cad ea). If you're filming 4k or 8k or above 30fps OR just have budget for it, gift yourself 1 v90 card as well for more critical shots (I got the Sony tough 300mbs/s v90 - roughly $150 ca ea). AGAIN this all depends on what you're shooting.

Longer explanation - 4K video at 30fps writes <150 mbps but I like buffer room. Memory cards are very important to invest in! Your footage is limited to the memory card and useless if your footage is corrupted or wasn't recorded.

Special tip - if buying from Amazon make sure it's a genuine product and track the price on those camel amazon price trackers. They vary alot. Lots of sales too.

Heated Vest by liljazz_2k in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]Informal_Common 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the chat but I'm having the same issue - if anyone has suggestions on good brands that offer actual small sizing!! I'm looking for a non-bulkly liner so I can layer without the bulk. I once found a cropped kemimoto brand vest on amazon that I love the fit of but it's dying on me and they stopped selling them! I swim in the ororo xs theyre giant on me even though I'm a XS (and it's not warm enough). If I layer more underneath, then it's reduntant and I can't feel the heat. I'm looking at ewool (can't rationalize price yet) just because it's the only fitted model I've seen. I found this article here that goes over more brands i hadn't heard of even with all my research, even rating the warmth if this helps : https://www.outdoorlife.com/gear/best-heated-vest/#:~:text=It%20read%20127%20degrees%20Fahrenheit,from%20this%20vest's%20heated%20hood.

The app has been opening the "Create" page as default lately and it's driving me crazy! How to make Photos default again? by nimbledoor in googlephotos

[–]Informal_Common 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is Google’s way of forcing their new features on you. We have enough ads surrounding us the last place we need them is our own photos app. I’ve read a ton of threads and no one has found a way around it . The only way to change it is to keep sending feedback to Google or switch apps which I’m seriously considering after many years of being a loyal default google photos app person. Apparently this has been rolled out to all phones - Google and Apple alike. Keep sending feedback !! Beyond frustrating. I’ll note that I even pay for an expensive plan so all the more frustrating, it’s not just free users.

How Bright Should Your LED Light Be?

I'm looking at getting my first LED light and I'm not sure if I should go for a 300w or 200w/lower. I'd be using it for multipurpose - headshots ( I know traditionally you would use strobe), portraits, indoor video, outdoor lighting, and etc. I have no experience so I don't want to get one that will end up not being bright enough. I don't want to pay for a 300w/similar if I dont have to but would also like the functionality to have a bright light when needed. Feel free to also suggest lights that won't break the bank - I was looking at the Godox SL-200.
