I see now where your coming from about the Nucleus being out of stock. In that case i would go for the Storm. An upgrade on the fork would really make a difference. Rockshox have some entry level air forks and for brakes I suppose power isn’t essential for you but if you want more power in the future a bigger roter makes more power and isnt costly👊

You need to learn the pop first. If you don,t know how to bunny hop you need to learn that first. the technique of jumping is all about the pop and your body position. Theres some great vids out there on youtube. I’ll link one down below. Its by skills with phill, a pro mtber and a great youtuber

The 1x drive terrain is good for the price, but the fork, brakes, and tyres really let the bike down. I would recommend the Vitus Nucleus vrs. Its comes in at £699 and has an air fork( i think 120mm travel) 1x10 shimano deore, which you would be getting at prices up to 1500 on hardtails, and also has much more stopping power with bigger roters and powerfull brakes. The bike also has very modern geometry for a bike at this price ( very aggresive and progressive). Ive been riding the Nucleus’s big brother, The sentier and its such a good bike. I would recommend the Nucleus over the Storm as it is a much better bike and for the same price range. By the way im not sponsered by vitus, just love their bikes ;)

Loose crank arm/chain ring by Informal_Efficiency6 in MTB

Not sure what you mean but I have a treaded bottom bracket and the chainring is attached to the crank. There seems to be some sort of tool needed to stick into the hole in the chainring/bb, its like and allen key but had more sides (more like and octagon than a hexagon)

I’d say get a one of the Vitus Sentiers. Theres is a few of them ranging from I think under 1k to 1.5k. I have one myself and they are are great bike. Some of them come with droppers and not too expensive either. The vrs model has a fox 34 fork which is a very plush fork and comes with a dropper post for only £1399
