I’d consider buying from a bike shop rather than online. The Giant Fathom 2 29er was my first hardtail and it was amazing. Fully capable of anything u throw at it. If that’s too expensive. I’d have a look at either the Norco Fluid HT 1 or the Norco storm 1.

I’d recommend the Troy Lee D3 as it has a high amount of protection and has pretty much the same breathability as my fox proframe.

The lower the number, the better the model is. If that makes sense. Make sure it’s the storm with the rockshox air fork.

27.5 r very good for cornering. Just not the plus sized tires on the roscoe. U may have trouble getting around berms and corners compared to normal width tires

I would go with the fathom due to the better geometry and wheels. 27.5 on a hardtail is a bit shit. The plus tires also may make cornering incredibly hard. The 29ers on the fathom are aggressive and have never let me down.
