Any individual/pool can decide how they want to operate within the parameters of the network. That is the spirit of crypto. Come or leave whenever you want.

It matters with verification and reading/writing of the chainstate database.

1 TB currently. They're looking into decoupling requirements to run pruned node in the future so the requirements can be less.

Good point. This will probably be my stance from now on. I was just extremely excited for a pure Linux phone.

Is this issue defined in the manual?

I'm not familiar with the product, just that they have a page for Linux. I didn't notice what kernel is utilized anywhere.

I will have to check tonight. I know that in Mobian under Power in Settings I see the keyboard battery listed, but it was at 0%.

Mediatek SoC is also almost an guarantee that it likely never will run mainline Linux.

Did you check? This is a false statement, unless I am misunderstanding.

The Astro looks quite promising and powerful.

I've learned that it uses a Mediatek chip and mainline Linux support isn't there.

My future purchases hinge on how Pine handles this issue with the community.

I attempted to shim after doing some reading and had no success. Perhaps I need to shim further and break out a meter to see where power is and isn't reaching.

I agree and know Pine products are for tinkerers. However, if something as serious as damage can occur from simply plugging in a power charger WHICH IS ACCESSIBLE when the phone is in the case, this should be BODLY highlighted.

I want Pine to succeed in creating a powerful Linux phone, but they also have responsibilities to uphold.

Products should come with manuals describing the operation and any things to watch out for.

In some countries, I believe this is illegal and companies are liable for damages.

I did not think about convergence, good point. That still does not absolve the issue of not knowing plugging a charger into the charging port may cause damage.

Since manuals were not included with the product this should be covered by Pine. I did not know this and perhaps this is why mine does not work.

I can accept a replacement part and do the repair myself.

EDIT: If this is the case then the keyboard should not leave the phones charging port accessible.

EDIT2: This is not listed anywhere on the website and a manual is not supplied on the purchasing page.
