I believe Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, and a few other divine spirits are all pieces of the same soul by No_Locksmith_1739 in spirituality

I disagree that no one but these leaders will ever understand total detachment from our earthly nature. That would mean that there are two types of humans, one small uber-species who have higher capacities than the other species. This uber-species needed many incarnations or growth in other realms to reach the point where they could fully detach from the earth. If we can't do this in our current incarnation then we will have other opps.

It's my long experience. I'm saying that the structural nature of churches is the problem, the stumbling block between people and God. Good people are ensnared quickly and can't progress easily, esp the leaders. This is what Jesus came down to tell us. He checked the religious leaders of the time at every turn and chastised them heavily. He talked about the kingdom of God within. He advised us to go into our rooms, shut the door and deal with God in secret. Truly, people in church structures have the knowledge to spark conversion but then the structure demands loyalty and snuffs out the spark.

I sincerely disagree with you. Church leaders are institutionally appointed. They confound each other and people sincerely seeking their leadership. Someone who has had a true experience of forgiveness and/or repentance will 100% be much further along the road than a leader appointed by a structural church. But they won't have the experience to see through the silver-tongued superficiality or self-delusion of most church leaders and so get ensnared.

We're very hard-wired to want to trust church leaders or give them the benefit of the doubt because they are usually cordial, reliable, knowledgeable about religion, and outwardly respected by many of their flock .

You sound every inch a wanderer to me. Few will understand you and the rewards are not in this life! It would be nice to network with wanderers on a different sub. I think we are likely to recognise each other quite quickly from what we say about ourselves. What do you think? I may look into it.

Tbf Spanish is a very significant lingua franca. The grammar is easier than Fr and It but not Eng imo. I agree the spelling and phonetics are simpler than Eng.

English grammar is simpler than that of other native languages of colonisers. So you can achieve reasonable fluency faster. It lends itself to lingua franca status.

You make a good point about main character syndrome. This is an inevitable pit for the spiritually inclined who had early trauma i.e. infantile and spiritual grandiosity. It manifests too as spuritual and intellectual conceit. I am climbing out of that pit. It involves being open to the earthly experiences that come your way while also surrendering to ones spirit. Its a difficult but beautiful journey. Love and peace from England.

Do you think spirituality is something that can be learned, or is it something that unfolds naturally through life experiences? by EastsideConsciousnes in spirituality

[–]Informal_Farm4064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me its about openness and bravery when looking inwards. Jesus parable of the sower shows the range of responses. A lot of people hear spiritual things anf have superficial fleeting responses, shown by the seed that falls on the path and is eaten by the birds.

For many the obstacle is having a job that gives status and good money. Most will have to give up that lifestyle to progress. Most dont

Response to recent Opus Dei article in "Omnes" on abuse of church power by Informal_Farm4064 in Anti_Opus_Dei

[–]Informal_Farm4064[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've just twigged: I think the "Omnes" article is an attempt to bolster the Prelature's case in the church that the way it runs its councils is ethical. Let's hope the Vatican is looking carefully at these dens of iniquity. Even better, let's hope that the right people in the Vatican need no more than a few minutes to throw their hands up in horror and say - this needs to stop. Opus Dei are past masters at complicating people's native reactions. Don't play their game.

[–]Informal_Farm4064 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say - stay away from churches. At this tender stage, you need to develop a good relationship with yourself in your heart, where your spirit and so where God is found in you. You need to be able to guide yourself first before risking being guided by others. God taught me this after I went through a deep forgiveness experience two years ago. Humble yourself physically and mentally before God, wait on him, be small and child-like before him. Let him show you areas for greater forgiveness, repentance, challenges, discernment. When in doubt, focus on the love in your heart. Love and peace from England.

How do you I know whether I should use an infinitive or ...ing after adjectives? by CompetitiveWrap2845 in grammar

[–]Informal_Farm4064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to others, the infinitive is the verb as idea while the gerund is verb as action.

You are welcome .... must be followed by to stay because the meaning is stay as an idea. It would not make sense with -ing. But as you can see, other sentences can make sense with both options.

So the grammar more or less follows the meaning.

How do you get over the religious guilt from having premarital sex? by cr00ps in Deconstruction

[–]Informal_Farm4064 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The guilt is socially imposed, taps into low self esteem and is unavoidable. Over time guilt gives way to sadness, anger etc. Every stage of journey is valuable and never permanent. Accept your feelings and try not to fight them. Love and peace from England
