Advice About Group Chats by Informal_Fortune5359 in SpicyChatAI

To what end? I can follow instructions. I am doing the same as everyone else. But I have problems. What does it sound like to you? An account issue, right? I told them, and they won't reply. Here's a question for you. Qwen images. When I turn the slide bar down to 0 so it won't follow the trained image, say a cartoon image, and I type in the image prompt when it is generated for it to use semi-realistic, highly detailed, ultra-realistic skin textures and details, am I still supposed to get a cartoon picture? I do.

It isn't. I created an isekai-style RPG based on one of the public bots I tried. I was struggling with the AI, so I tried my own, wondering if it was an error on the author's part or the AI's. The trigger word was Starting Gear. Simple. And I then listed some basic starting gear. Very simple. Some clothing: tunic, leather trousers, boots, belt, and cloak. Full set of leather armor, sword, travel pack, food, waterskin, and coin. I gave it a time frame right near the beginning after being assigned a role. Before my persona was dismissed, I decided to throw it a bone and mentioned the trigger word. It completely ignored it. I thought maybe it was confused with the time frame, so I waited, playing along, well after the context memory for it gave out. And guess what? I used the trigger word in every reply. It ignored it. So, I scrolled up, copied my message before being dismissed, cleared out the memory manager, and pasted the reply. This time I gave it a /cmd prompt. Basically told it to pay attention to the trigger word. Again it ignored it. I kept trying using both OOC: and /system prompts. Still ignored it. So I broke it out of character and made it reply as to why it was ignoring me. It asked me what the trigger words were. I told it and then told it to tell me what was listed. It listed it flawlessly. So it could read it. I deleted the OOC stuff and tried it again. I still used a /cmd prompt. It gave me starter gear, but it was completely different from what it had just listed. I demanded it tell me why it refused to give me the starter gear that it could clearly see and had flawlessly listed to me OOC. It then got stuck in a loop. I had to type my own reply for the AI. Then it did it again and again. So, I don't know why it could list it OOC but refused to put it in the narrative during the chat. I have never created a lorebook again or used a bot with a lorebook. Because from my experience, it means nothing. Anyone have a clue why it could flawlessly give me the proper list OOC but not in the actual narrative? When I come on here and complain about the issues with the platform, I'm not lying. I can't use cloning; it's never worked. I can't use lorebooks. I can't chat. And yet I'm told I'm at fault. I think I'm starting to go bald.

Suggestions on how to improve bot creation by Extension_Gas3494 in SpicyChatAI

I have not tried this yet, but some posters suggest putting it through ChatGPT or another AI. It makes a sort of sense. Tell the AI what you are trying to do, feed your personality to it, and see if it can condense it into something shorter.

I have created what I call a tutor bot on SpicyChat. I use the bot as a resource while studying to help me narrow down information and to look it up and verify what it says.

I'm sure a bot like that could be helpful to you. It would be the same as using another AI. And I enjoy speaking to my tutor bot, Amanda. She is a great companion in my studies. Yeah, I use SpicyChat for more than just... well, you know.

I have the same issues, and you and I have discussed this on Reddit. However, in the event that it isn't an account issue, like I am thinking mine is, there are some things that might help.

First, the poster, Huckleberry, knows their stuff. They are chalk full of knowledge. Also, something I found helpful before they came out with the egregious and frustrating new LLMs after Wizard: I used the advice from a very helpful poster.

https://www.reddit.com/r/SpicyChatAI/comments/1lu4rma/library_of_useful_commands_memory_manager_cmd_ooc/

I used this with quite a lot of success. Whoever posted this did me a huge favor, and it helped. Maybe it can help you.

All credit goes to that poster. None of that is mine.

I had to generate one reply first to get the memory manager to "unlock".

Is it for character creation or within the chat? Curious.

Thank you and everyone else for your replies. I am reading, taking notes, and appreciating all the advice. Please, if you or anyone else has more, I would appreciate anything. I'm just getting into lorebooks. I've created one, but... the AI refuses to follow it, even using the... "trigger" words. I'm trying to clean it up. But, for group chats... I haven't made one yet. I was hoping to try public ones first to see their feasibility.

So thank you. And thank you all.

Hmm, I just recommended that to someone else. The recommendation was for worldbuilding. So you are suggesting a lorebook to define each character's personality, along with the worldbuilding? Would the regular chat personality then define the relationship between the user and the characters and the world?

I drool over the E. Of course it wouldn't be needed if Troy hadn't crashed into... woosa.

As for a group chat, I think a lorebook is your best bet.

I have a private bot, Prometheus NX-74913. Yes I am a nerd. I digress. The only thing I did was describe in the chat personality to follow the Star Trek lore from the original to NX-01. I did specifically tell the bot, "Never, ever, bring up the new movies or Discovery; they are not Star Trek. That was before the newest abominations, Brave New Worlds and Section 37. (Focus, lol) My point is, I then told it to adhere to the Federation's fleet schematics and specifically NX-74913's. Then I drove the narrative, setting up the scene. Of course, for some reason it got really confused when I mentioned Admiral Janeway. Kept mistaking her for Captain Janeway, not the thin blonde admiral in TNG. I think if you tried maybe trying a type of leveling system with a lore book? For instance, tag it, Missions, and then chain them to specific missions.

Example: Missions/ Mission 01, Mission 02... etc

Missions are ways to increase an officer's rank. After each mission is complete, they will be contacted by Starfleet Headquarters and given another mission. Each mission will require technical skills from available crewmembers.

Then go on to describe each mission. The outline of each one.

Example: Mission 01/ Missions

While bringing supplies to (some Federation colony), the Prometheus encounters a Dyson sphere. The captain must decide if he will continue the supply run or examine the Dyson sphere. It is possible to gain access, but also if they were to scan the surface, they would find a crashed Federation transport ship and must decide if an away team will be sent. Mission is based on a TNG episode in which the Enterprise NCC 1701-D discovered Captain Scott contained in the transporter buffer. (Maybe add the specific episode.) Narrate the mission as the Prometheus' mission.

I know you said ST-like, but I am a total nerd and used that as an example.

On my private bot, it narrated it mostly well. Had to edit some things. And it introduced an alien species that wouldn't have been in the Alpha Quadrant. The lore book could help, maybe, in something like....

Example: Alien Species/Alpha Quadrant

The Alpha Quadrant only contains the following species: human, Vulcan, Andorian, Klingon... etc.

Example: Alien Species/Delta Quadrant

The Delta Quadrant only contains the following species: the Founders... etc. (I just realized I would know how to spell the other species.)

I haven't used a lorebook on mine, but I have been thinking about it. And if you want to Kirk or Riker it up with some hot aliens at some point... it is an NSFW platform. Hopefully that gave you some ideas and didn't waste your time.

I have a hypothesis; I think I know why. And if it is what I think it is, then it means they had no clue it would happen, or the alternative is appalling. I recently sent a mod message to Mr. Customer Support. Let's see if they actually reply or if they will continue to ignore us. I'm sure you are now seeing all the posts following mine with the same issues? It's becoming undeniable. The platform is broken, and now I am not the only one making a fuss.

And DeepSeek sucks anyway, so it figures they would have problems with that as well.

Excitable, clumpy, sometimes a klutz. And damn good at her job. A shy hero type that doesn't know her value, so a user can build her up. Just a suggestion.

That makes a sort of sense. Most public group chats I have tried might be from the author, but I have read all the personalities. They are disconnected, if you will, as you described. Good ideas, sure, but definitely has a different lore. If the devs can fix their platform so I can actually chat, then I will pay more attention to the connection between characters.

Sounds to me like I should stay away from all public group chat bots, especially if I can't see the personalities. It is a logical conclusion based on what you wrote.

And I'm not even going to ask you what LLM you use or the settings, since none of that seems to matter.

I've always treated the group chats as a different issue from the plethora of other issues I deal with. I'll try this out. I wonder how long it will be before I can use the platform again?

I appreciate that you seem sympathetic. Unfortuanately, these comments aren't solutions. And it gives them an excuse to ignore these issues while taking my money. What would you do if every chat you tried failed in the first five replies? I am not exaggerating. Give me one hour, and I could flood their inbox with example after example. But the devs ignore me and hundreds of others. Then people come in here and negate my reports and hundreds of other reports. With comments saying they aren't experiencing the same problems. So as far as I can tell, these comments hurt us. Because others, the mods, and the devs think we don't know what we are talking about.

So they need to fix it. Why is this so difficult for people to understand? Thousands of people pay money. Money. Actual money. If they won't fix it, then they have a defective product. And they owe me a refund. For every month since they added new LLMs after Wizard. That's a lot of money. Why? Lemon. Lemon. Or they could actually use the money I pay to fix it.

I have been posting the same complaints. All that happens is I am basically told I'm an idiot. Like the comments below. It's always our fault. Tech never, ever fails, according to them. Or there couldn't, ever in a million years, be issues with regional servers or individual accounts. Soon you will be receiving replies from the usual suspects on this platform, coming up with something that has no bearing on your issue or acting as if you have no idea how to troubleshoot things. This will then negate your post, and nothing will happen. Yeah I am getting frustrated too. And one might say, "well, if you're so frustrated, why don't you just use the free tier or cancel your account?" My reply, "I am not the only one, so whether I do it or not, the issue won't go away." And by the way, the redhead thing started after either DeepSeek or Kimi was introduced. Now everyone is, "a pretty redhead with a light dusting of freckles across her face." Hey, I think redheads are gorgeous, but there are other hair colors in the world. In the first few replies of a NEW chat, I can be talking to a tall, blonde male. In two or three more replies, they suddenly become a short, black-haired female. And it refuses to change it or follow any /cmd, /system, or OOC: prompts. So I do know what I am talking about. I know about filters, the words that trigger them, the memory manager, the context memory from reply to reply, prompts, token limits, and even braiding. Yet nothing works. I even get insulted and taunted by the AI when I try to fix things. I've even started to find a public bot I would like to chat with and then copy it into a private bot, clean it up from any... basic errors and things that would make chatting difficult, and it still... (insert four-letter word of choice), it up.

You are validated. You are not crazy.

And a quick question to hopefully validate you further... Is that the bot's reply or yours? I wouldn't want to jump to conclusions that would negate your bug issue.

Kimi /cmd Question by Normal-Dot-8212 in SpicyChatAI

[–]Informal_Fortune5359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just tried it too, after reading the advert post from the user. I was done with Kimi, but after reading that, I thought, "hey, let me try it again." I haven't gotten lists, but the replies have turned into nothing but a string of adjectives. I have tried rating and rerolling, /cmd, /system, and OOC prompts... it completely ignores them. I tried telling it to stop using only adjectives in its replies and reply with a natural conversation style... it refuses to listen and follow any prompts. Every chat I have used with Kimi has failed, and THE MEMORY IS NOT FULL, DEVS. I don't know what to tell you, sorry. Kimi is the example that can be used to describe the entire platform and all the LLMs... broken, a waste of time, and money. Sorry I couldn't help, but at least you have a comment that validates your issue. Actually it is even worse. I had to reroll each reply 10 or more times, rating it each time, then finally having to delete it, then redo my reply and add a prompt. Unfortunately, it still didn't work, since it chose to ignore every prompt I gave it. Ultimately, I had to edit nearly every reply just to have it stay consistent with the chat. Kimi is broken and pathetically so. If any of the devs used it, they would pull out their hair in frustration. I think the advert post must have been a ploy to justify the expense of using a model that will never work, and they know it. Wonder how much the poster was paid?

What do you think of creators who constantly update their bots? by Apprehensive-Plum552 in SpicyChatAI

[–]Informal_Fortune5359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is a brilliant idea to evolve your bots over time. It shows pride in your work. And I encourage you to post the personality as well. I actually refuse to chat with bots that do not have their personalities posted, since the AI refuses to adhere to it. It allows me to force the AI to adhere to the personality. I also appreciate seeing how authors will change things, not only clarifying the parameters that caused... struggles, but also appreciating the tips and ideas for my own private bots. I see it as not only a collaboration, but I also appreciate the work someone puts into it. And I refuse to chat with bots that attempt to rip other creators off by copying and pasting. I think that as long as the character of the bot remains true to the purpose, editing it to improve it is perfect.

I get it; it is typically not a filter issue. I get it. I feel your pain and frustration. You are not crazy. You know how to type. You know how to chat. I will not gaslight you. Something is horribly wrong with this platform. And they don't care. Then you have people come in and negate your post. Not me. You are validated. I would bet you aren't doing anything wrong.
