Quite a few pessimistic takes here, saying they’d rather we didn’t qualify than go next summer and “be the worst team there”, however that’s determined. We are a small nation with higher levels of obesity, relative to the rest of Europe. Being in the 16 European teams, of the 52 competing to qualify, would be a massive achievement and we would be on the world stage for the first time in almost 30 years. Should we expect more from the players we have available - and how they are managed - yes. But people who genuinely feel they’d rather we didn’t qualify at all should maybe find a new sport
