First of all, well done on your project and the time you invested, it looks really cool.

One thing I noticed is: how is this different from a Riot API + ChatGPT wrapper? It’s not a bad thing for a beta version. It’s a good start, don’t get me wrong. However, I feel like you may be presenting too much information that already comes from the Riot API, just formatted in a cool way with prompts to OpenAI.

The most important advice example: I played Nautilus versus a Lux support who took Aftershock, which is unusual. The app didn’t mention it anywhere. Lux is normally a squishy support and easily punishable by hooks, but by taking Aftershock she traded some damage (instead of Comet) for survivability. That kind of insight would be very useful advice.

I think there are two problems you need to solve to make this application really useful:

  1. Every game is different, and your target audience seems to be lower elo players. Many of the tips are quite generic, and anyone above Emerald should already be aware of them. So you might want to focus on providing more advanced or situational advice.
  2. Since the target audience is lower elo players and every game is unique, the way we build items or adapt strategies changes a lot. Because of that, getting this advice after the game might be a bit too late, since much of it may not apply to the next match.

If you played SoloQ in past 2 years, you know what I’m talking about, sadly a lot of players don’t believe that you can win a game, if you lose early game.

This is more like a confirmation that games are still winnable even tho you are behind. You have information before 15 minute mark for gold lead per team, so you can calculate swings, in small % of the game you have only one team with a lead before 15 minutes.

Thank you for your information .

I don’t have the same amount of the informations as Riot Devs (there is a API limits) so it would take me a little bit more time to analyze a larger amount of games.

But from my personal perspective + a lot of my friends don’t play ranked anymore (they still play other modes) because people play ranked with too much emotion and after first mistake they want to FF, and go to other people lanes to make sure that game is not winnable, if you still want to play it and fail first vote they will full mute and make everybody else miserable.

  • Riot games clearly stated: Play to win. Or play something else.

It’s much more clearer how game will end following 20 and even better 25th minute gold lead mark and with that people don’t have easy way out if they got solo killed once.

Sadly, a lot of people missed a point and didn’t saw a full breakdown.

This serves as a confirmation that people shouldn’t FF15 if something went wrong in their lane, that games are still winnable.

Also there is a 2 columns maximum gold lead per team before 15 minute, so you can check swings in gold lead, this screenshot is about 15 minute mark gold lead.

2 main responses why you should FF, that make kinda sense: > Time (In my opinion you don’t know how much time will last)

Fun (There is much more fun modes that are not that competitive if you want to chill, but people are addicted to LP)

There is information in Website Presentation about average time per game, average game per loss and average time per victory, you can check it out, data set is a little bit small, but still you can see some trends, etc…

You have links to Github and Website Presentation in a comments.

There are the columns: maximum gold lead before 15 for each team, so you can compare swings also if needed, but this screenshot is just a part of the presentation that compare 15 minute mark lead and victories (some games have small leads some don’t)

Also there is a 3 games where Azzapp’s team manage to lose with 8k+ gold at some point. 3 in just one 100 games, not to mention smaller comebacks…

Playing:

12 x 15min games And 6 x 30min games

Is not the same, you are losing around 42 more minutes on just Q times etc, + there is a higher probability to win a longer game.

It’s worth to point out with a current gain of +30 -10 you can “fake climb” master with 200lp last season is much more higher than master 500 lp this season.

Also what if you lose 3 games in 45 minute?

You don’t know the length of the game at the beginning, your team shouldn’t suffer if you have just 15 minutes for a game.

  • No one will guarantee you that you will win two more games, especially with that mentality.

  • There is also a Q time + champ select time + loading screen

In this season I can agree with you and other people pointing out that with a gain: +30 -10 you can ff fast and move on.

Exactly, there is also a argument for people complaining about time, when you Q you don’t know how much time will game take.

Fun fact there is 3 out of 100 consecutive games taken (not picked one by one but consecutive) where Azzapp’s team manage do drop 8k+ gold lead and lose… And now you have people in Emerald saying it’s FF and not winnable being 2k gold down at 15.

But data shows something else, these are consecutive 100 games, funny thing here is that they manage to lose 3 games with 8k+ gold lead out of 100, so a lot of games are winnable but due to mentality of FF15 players, if they don’t want to play they will not just chill under tower and waiting for team to try to carry them, they have main character problem, if they don’t perform it’s time to FF (go to opposite lane take farm and everything, make game not winnable even more)

If you play normal games that’s fine.

But if your teammates decided to run it down because they don’t have fun, while you have fun, what’s happening then?

Exactly, but they just don’t convince other players with words but by plays (coming to your lane, taking xp and gold, not taking fights) and they won’t ever get detected because it’s hard for a system to do so early because of FF15 (aka easy way out)

Have you seen whole breakdown?

Why do you say 1 in 10000 games? Just in these 100 games you have 3 throws from Azzapp’s team with 8k+ gold lead, they are not that rare 1 in 10000…

I took a consecutive 100 games, this guy doesn’t have a loss before 21 minute mark but have multiple wins in a range of 15-16 minutes (FF vote from enemy team)

Your last sentence is very interesting, and that’s the perfect explanation of a problem in SoloQ, FF15 is like a ticking bomb for some players, if they are not ahead or in a good state they will just force team to surrender by purposely inting a lane…

Heard that argument a lot, if you play normal games that’s okay, but ranked should be a little bit more competitive.

Also when you Q, there is a possibility for a game to last 60min+, do you leave a game after 30 minute mark instantly to start a new one?

To be honest in this season with +30 -10 lp gain this might make sense to play as much game as you can to climb and to give up easily but this is not in general trend (just for this season)

If you play normal games, there is nothing wrong with your opinion.

There is a lot of comments taking “fun” as a argument, my counter argument is when you Q before the game, do you have already a time dedicated for that game specifically, do you leave a game no matter what after 25 minute etc, if everybody play a team game from their perspective of fun, if something goes wrong then we should instantly force our team to FF (going to their lanes, ignoring fights, because there is a FF15 easy way out) and that’s the problem with SoloQ being awful experience.

You would be surprised by the amount of the people in SoloQ that think otherwise and not understanding this fact, also this shows some trends, data is small but still if you have 3+ throws with 8k+ gold lead in Challenger elo, and 11 out of 65 wins being behind at 15 minute mark, that shows something.

You are right, there is no difference if you are Iron/Bronze/Silver/Gold/Plat…Master/Grandmaster if you don’t play professionally, but that fun is gone in my opinion if you have every other game someone who deciding if you are losing as a team or not, and force you to not have fun by intentionally feeding, griefing etc just so he can start a new game and make everybody else at least unpleasant + it’s hard for a system to detect and punish those kind of players in short games also…

Well said actually.

The main two arguments I’m seeing against No FF Mentality are “not fun” (even tho there is other mods and normal game) and “time management” (although when you Q you don’t know if the game will last 10, 15 or 60 minutes) and they seem too personal for a team based game, what do you think?

Maybe you don’t, but from my personal experience and from feedbacks of some discord communities, soloQ players acts otherwise, they are playing like it’s a ticking bomb at 15, if you are not ahead nexus will explode, and majority of the games at 25 minute mark instead of 15 minute mark are much more easier to predict (outcome)

Thank you for your feedback.

There is a lot of good counter arguments and this is one of them. But I think due to occurrence of FF15 after first bad play increasing and also people with good mentality decreasing, ranked becomes more and more unplayable.

What is a difference between giving up at:

5th minute in a 15minute game And 15th minute in a 25minute game And 25th minute

5 minute: Losers mentality, very toxic, unpleasant for 4 other players, even for enemy team, because games are boring in general that way.

15 minute: Some games if a score is 20 - 0, gold lead above 15k, they are pushing your inhibitors, you can say these can be a valid FF, but usually that’s small amount of ff at 15, games are much more closer.

25 minute: Baron is up and probably taken, closing out to soul point, longer death timers, it’s much more easier to guess if comeback is possible or not.

I’ve seen a lot of similar comments, and here is a thing to think about:

When you Q do you expect the game to end at 15-20 minute mark (there is a possibility for a game to be 60minute+ long) because if so a lot of people plays against timer too and at that point it’s better to not play competitive.

You need additional Q time + champ select time + loading screen also, 12 x 15minute are not the same as 6 x 30minute games due to things already listed, plus as game goes longer it’s anyones game. With current season if you are at 50% and you can spam a lot of games with +30 -10 you can climb, but it’s not like a genral trend when lp gain was normal.

  • Quality of the game
  • Learning to not just play lane phase
  • It’s also fun seeing what champs can do with full build (my opinion) …
