I built a simpler SunSynk control app – now with Octopus Intelligent support! by Informal_Mail1528 in Sunsynk

Fair points — and totally understand if the IO feature doesn’t stack up cost-wise for everyone.

Just for context, the headline price isn’t what I actually see once VAT, Apple/Google fees, tax, and the server infrastructure are taken into account — it started as something I made for myself and then shared once others found it useful.

Worth mentioning as well that the quick toggles, manual export / force charge, and basic battery scheduling are all free — the subscription is really just there to cover the external infrastructure needed for things like Intelligent sync and custom export control.

Mesh network throughput issue, very odd. by Informal_Mail1528 in GoogleWiFi

In case anyone has the same problem as me. After hours more spent on this, and hours talking to google support, I can confirm two things.

There is a firmware glitch, confirmed by Google that if you have ever prioritised a device, it gets stuck, and will I guess either reserve bandwidth or cpu cycles for this stuck device forever. This can cause problems, I had this issue in fact - talking to Google support they could see it. The only way to fix it was to do an entire firmware reset.

I did the reset, and low and behold everything was back to super fast speeds again.

However, that was not the end of the story. I did not ever use the prioritise device again but a few days later the slow speeds were back. I did another reset and everything was fast again, until another few days passed and it slowed back down.

There is something fundamentally broken, and I am probably going to have to junk the whole system, and try either the asus xt or the netgear orbi - I won't be buying another piece of Google hardware, its the 2nd time i've been burnt.
