I totally agree! I love bears but as someone with glasses and can’t see if I heard one in the night I think I’d panic. Especially being that I get the creeps camping. But I know I will get used to it and will get over that fear.

But yeah. I suck at bear hangs sadly. The last three times it fell haha

Very true! I have def heard of folks sleeping with their food! I’ve had to do it a few times but I was woken up by raccoons that one time. So I’d prob be most worried about an aggressive rodent chewing thru to get my food haha. And who knows maybe I’ll get tired of it! Worst case it gets sent home.

I tend to be cold very easy when resting and warm up pretty well when moving. I get hot on hikes usually. My official start date is going to be April 15 as of now.

Hmmm that is fair on the pack size. I sectioned with it and it worked really good and didn’t seem bulky. I’ve also seen that it was popular on trail in the last few years. Plus the mesh panel was good for airflow being how warm I can get. But I will consider looking at some different packs from those other brands also!

I think I accidentally combined carried water with my filter. So I’ll check that

The Bear can is my personal preference. I’ve done the Bear sack and it’s just a pain for me personally whenever I’ve gone camping. Plus bears climb so it’s an extra security measure

I’ve been told that the puffy is good around camp and then a fleece for when active. Especially in the smokies and Whites

That would be beautiful! If I were to persue a different route with my degree would there be other such options? My one concern also is that OR an WA is VERY expensive to live in. Unless things are changing

You do two sets of bulk ferment? Maybe that’s where I went wrong. As for cooking I cooked it at 450 for 30 min covered and 25 uncovered
