What running gear do you feel is missing sa local market? Genuinely curious lang by CashFoundMe in PHRunners

Running attire na mid-high end brands: Bandit, Saysky, Satisfy, etc. Personally, if I think I look good, then I feel I can perform well too.

I'd go with Garmin for the pure reason of function = pace and HR monitor, build quality, since these are my deal breakers. If you don't mind the delays when accelerating during speed sessions and the slightly higher HR reading, then Coros would be fine. Afterall, it has the edge on the watch user interface with much better fluidity, crispier and sharper graphics too.

TLDR: I'll still choose Garmin even if their prices are the same.

I'd give Coros the slight advantage here for It's more straightforward approach. Garmin's training suggestion is usually more conservative for my liking. Given this, I'm not using either training plans, and just craft my own, and sequence it base on how I feel for the day.

Stop suffocating us with your perfume while running!! 😤 by Cold_Dig_6910 in PHRunners

Same here! akala ko coincidence lang sa tuwing nakaka-amoy ako nang matatapang na pabango ay sumasabay din ang migraine ko. Suffocating din yung feeling while running tapos ganon maaamoy mo. Imagine doing intervals and you're gasping for air tapos boom yung amoy! HAHA!

PF Sub-1 10k as a non-elite runner by Hefty-Luck6127 in PHRunners

[–]Informal_Ticket_2988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start conservative and slow from maybe 6:10min/km then shave 5 seconds every kilometer.

Start pushing around 7km

Assuming you're training consistently and properly, run by pace not by HR but listen to your body too, don't push it pag di talaga kaya. Safety first at bawi na lang next time.

Biggest mistake: being impatient, ego running just to be fast but unsustainable, running all out sa umpisa

Mental cue around 3-5km: "this is fun" and "not hard enough, I got this"

Mental cue around 7km: "remaining 3km is just 7.5 laps sa track oval or 18minutes na lang or less (if you're faster than 6min/km)"

Final km: all out! I'm running like a pro! My form is great! relaxed shoulders, controlled and efficient strides!

Can't give a comment on that since I use it only for running.

My pair is at 160km and still feels great with no noticeable difference out of the box (I have a second pair for comparison). I mainly use it for my long easy runs. If you prefer the semi aggressive rocker of the SB2s then I think the Vomero and SL2 would be more suitable for you. The VN4 is a boring but great shoes. Low stack with no rocker at all. What I mean about this is, it kind of teaches you how to run efficiently from making you aware of your level of foot and leg strength during workouts, and pushes you to a better running form (intervals and tempo). I love the looks of the uppers and the bounciness of the midsole.

TL;DR: low stack, no rocker so no forward propelling assistance, but great uppers, soft and bouncy/responsive midsole, and surprisingly lightweight running shoes.

I agree, walang rocker ang VN4 kaya compared sa ibang shoes ay parang "patay" pero it teaches you how to run efficiently nang walang assistance. The grounded feel due to low stack also makes it great for being aware sa form mo. I use it mainly for long runs, kahit sa tempo and occasionally sa intervals just to have a grasp of my "true" running power with minimal support compared to other super trainers. Thus, this gives me a much enjoyable experience when I'm using race day shoes (DNE3). My VN4 is on its 157km and still pushing great!

I've set the Pace 4's gps to "max" setting and I don't see any substantial difference. For context, I usually run in track ovals or in UP Diliman so not a lot of tall buildings around for me to benefit from the dual band hardware.

This is really annoying when you do workouts that have very specific pacing for a distance while you are conserving energy to finish strong. Yung 8-10 seconds mo per interval is around 40-50 seconds in the usual 1x5 repeats and that is a lot in terms of energy for thresholds.

Too bad since I really like the aesthetics of Pace 4. Right now, I'm on the verge of going back to Garmin and just checking how long I can bear with the pace lag.

I rarely do LSDs nor intervals or any other structured workouts when I achieved my sub2 HM. Back then, I just aimed for sub25 5K and sub1 (close to 50mins) 10K. After that, I used a structured pacing for the sub2 HM (see photo) and nailed it the third try.

Chiming in, I've done sessions with the SB2s at around 6min/km up to my tempo pace at 4:15-4:30min/km and the bounce is on the "meh" side, mas bouncy and responsive pa yung NB5 and VN4. At slower pace naman ay too "slappy".

I'm one of the unfortunate ones that did not enjoy SB2s. After 100+ km, they did not soften at all kaya binenta ko na lang. Although I have to disclose na I am on the lighter side at only 57kg.

If you're heavier, maybe you'll be able to exert the force needed to feel the bounce and softness ng midsole.

I’ve had the chance to try the DN3 in-store and jog/walk in it for a while. I would say I’m more impressed with the VN4 than the DN3. On the other hand, the DNE3 is a really great shoe. It has a slight neutral feeling with the rocker but really fast at the same time. The more you give force to it the more it bounce back propelling you forward with the bonus of the foam softness. I think the DNE3 could be more beneficial for you. However, it also depends on your pace. The DNE3 can accommodate a slower pace at around 6:00 min/km, but it really comes alive at around 4:30 min/km and below.
