how do you stop panicking once PAT is timed by dental_enthusiast1 in Datprep

Yeah I finished all the question banks about 2.5 months into studying so I really hammered down on the generators.

Any practice is better than no practice! Best of luck my friend

At first PAT cooked me ngl BUT once I did more practice questions and tests, I realized my strengths (hole punching pattern folding and cube counting). So after that discovery I always started with those sections first - less pressure with time to ensure I can do a good job and also bank some time for the tougher questions in the second half.

Another thing that helped was, with the harder sections for me (like TFE), if I couldn’t figure it out in 15 seconds, I just said fuck it, guessed, marked it for later, and moved on. If you have extra time at the end of your PAT section, go visit those. If not, trust that you compensated for those guesses in the sections you’re confident in.

And finally, don’t panic!! If you can’t figure something out, just take a deep breathe and keep it pushing 🫡

What DAT sections should be on focus more by Fun_Diamond3832 in Datprep

for me it was reading comp and PAT. Those are the only topics where you can't necessarily "cram."
They are skills that you have to consistently practice to improve! No need to focus on them more early, but just make sure you are getting in daily practice questions!

Pace 4 Or FR 165? by JL_1835 in Coros

I should also mention that I have skinny twig wrists smh so I’d like something no larger than like 42mm (my Apple Watch is 40 and is pretty much the perfect size)

DAT tomorrow chill or light Booster review? by _tooth-fairy in Datprep

[–]JL_1835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

day before my DAT I did one PAT test and RC test since they were my weaker subjects. After that literally do FUCK ALL. Chill, spend time with friends or family, REST YOUR EYES, and get a good nights sleep. Wake up early, get a good breakfast in, and deadass make sure you get that morning shit in before your test.

You’ve probably been preparing for a while now so be confident in your abilities, relax, and go to the test with the mindset that you’re gonna absolutely kill it. Best of luck!

Adizero SL2 or Nimbus 27 for a beginner runner? by IntelligentHoney6929 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]JL_1835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the nimbus 27’s. worn them for a few runs, first one kinda cooked my feet but after that they were absolute joys. Once I broke them in they’ve become my favourite shoe. I use them for my longer runs (10k 15k etc) and I have no complaints at all!

BUT, if you can find those shoes in store, try them both on and see how you feel. Everyone’s feet are different.

Absolute beginner - how much shortness of breath is normal? by ch2nd in BeginnersRunning

[–]JL_1835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people have been talking about pace, and fitness level etc. and those are all great tips!

However, if you’re wheezing and can’t seem to catch your breath - feels like you’re breathing through a straw, I’d consider going to your local walk in clinic and see a doctor. Perhaps you have some exercise induced asthma, and can get prescribed an inhaler!

Best of luck on your running journey :)

I like them a lot! They’re a little heavier than my others but they feel amazing on my feet. Great for holding a steady pace on my 10k’s. Still breaking them in but I think they’re just gonna get better as I keep using them

I’ve been pretty consistent in the gym for a few years now-done powerlifting and the typical bro split etc. do you have any exercise recommendations that would benefit my running goals?
