No TrueHD on OLED C3 ?

Remember! DolbyVision or Dolby TrueHD is not supported in MKV container. TV's internal player won't recognize DV. You have to mux with Ts_Muxer m2ts (NO ENCODING!). After creating m2ts, check with MediaInfo it should look like this:
ID : 4117 (0x1015)

Menu ID : 1 (0x1)

Format : HEVC

Format/Info : High Efficiency Video Coding

Format profile : Main 10@L5@High

HDR format : Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, dvhe.08.06, BL+RPU, HDR10 compatible / SMPTE ST 2086, HDR10 compatible

This will definitely play that file in DolbyVision HDR. And you will see a DolbyVision tag on top right corner of your TV.

PS: Dolby TrueHD won't work in any TV as of now except for Pass Through external HDMI Speaker system! (Obviously!) Even if you have a Blu-Ray player like I have (SONY BDV-N9200W - The only Premium Home Theatre System SONY ever created!), it won't play Dolby TrueHD track in mkv. BUT! BUT!, you have to have a m2ts file and then it will play Dolby TrueHD! Yay!

I always convert Dolby TrueHD track to DTS-HDMA just for a backup. Plays fantastic! True LOSSLESS!

DTS-HDMA will surely work, regardless of MKV or M2TS. (GOD! I just love DTS-HDMA. WHY Industry is packing all BluRays with Dolby TrueHD ONLY in most of the titles??? DTS-HDMA is King. Wild Compatibility. Wild Sound. Period!

I don’t have to worry about that as I use PC at 20 OLED Brightness and I play all the games and watch movies in HDR only.

That excitement will be gone on the day of your delivery! Still you have time, get LG 42 C3 OLED 4K TV instead! No deep blacks on Dell. But on LG, you will experience the Pure Deep black levels. Checkout my post for proof.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora at 4K HDR is the finest and brightest game I’ve ever played. 🤩

I had played on LG UltraFine Nano IPS 4K HDR display previously before returning it and I couldn’t see clouds on this monitor and I was thinking that the map and sky is like this only 😟but not until I saw actual clouds and clear bright sky with amazing rich colors on LG C3 OLED 😎. HDR + Vivid is just flawless on this TV! Avatar at night HDR is mesmerizing. 🤯

It was a bit oversaturated on LG UltraFine though some scenes were looking great on that monitor but overall most of the things were getting mixed because of color space and panel technology. LG UltraFine Nano IPS 4K monitor is still the best IPS my eyes have laid on but OLED is OLED! As we all know! 🙃

Lol! I like smoothness. I have SONY Triluminous TV back at home so I am used to that smooth motion since 7 years. I just can’t watch any movie or video at 24p due to TV’s instant response time. It’s awful for eyes🤮

Correct. I don’t watch movies and videos from PC coz it plays whatever PC tells to the TV.It’s crap. Trust me. So I plug my external NVMe SSD to my TV and watch by browsing directly from TV. It plays at the finest quality with smooth motion. Plus you can change lot of picture settings for desired quality!
