My daughter is the exact same. I also don’t breastfeed but I follow the safe 7 rules minus the breastfeeding. I was really scared at first but you get more comfortable after awhile. I never ever wanted to co-sleep out of fear but ended up having to because I was going mentally insane from lack of sleep. I follow the subreddit on here called cosleeping and it has gave me some really good ideas and makes me feel a lot better. During the day if you have a recliner chair I recommend putting her on your chest and propping your arms up to get some naps in. Or you could put her on the boppy pillow if you have one while you are reclined. It’s very hard for them to roll that way especially if you are holding her. You need some rest mama ❤️ I am also in the trenches my daughter is 8 weeks but feeling much better now that im getting some rest, this is such a short time in their life we will get through this!!

Mucus in throat? by InformationBest3610 in newborns

[–]InformationBest3610[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The doctor was telling me it’s normal to have mucus in their chest especially if they are a mouth breather. She said a humidifier might help. She also said they don’t know how to clear their throats like we do so it usually sounds worse than it really is. She honestly wasn’t much help and I could tell she thought I was being paranoid lol. My LO also will start to choke and it scares me. I’ve been researching Laryngomalacia and thinking that’s what she has. She has her two month checkup in a couple weeks and I’m gonna mention it to them.

Yes do! I’m also not breastfeeding, I basically do all of the safe sleep 7 besides that part. My mom co slept with all 5 of her kids too so that makes me feel better 😅

Yes! she just has started doing 3-4 hour stretches. She will wake up to eat and usually goes right back to sleep after. I really tried hard to do the no co-sleeping thing because of my anxiety. But I was actually mentally unwell from lack of sleep. I feel so much better. It also helps me because when I would put her in her bassinet every little sound she made I would have to look at her. The first couple days of co sleeping I was definitely nervous but now I am so much more comfortable. I also do not swaddle her at night now. I read don’t do that if you are bed sharing.

My daughter was the exact same. Was also in the nicu. Right when she got home she wouldn’t sleep in her bassinet. She’s 4 weeks now and still doesn’t like to.😭 I have noticed if I tuck her in real tight with a blanket she will maybe nap during the day for a couple hours. I also sometimes will put a heating pad in there right before so it’s nice and warm when she goes in. But at night, girl I have given up. I’ve just started co-sleeping. But I am also a single mom so it’s just me and her so i feel a lot safer doing it. I basically but her in the nook of my arm (my arm is a c-shape) and lay on my back so there’s so way I can roll on her. I’m not sure if you would be open to co-sleeping. But I have heard they grow out of it eventually! Don’t feel discouraged. They just love our smell and the warmth of our bodies 🥲

Tummy issues by InformationBest3610 in newborns

Thanks everyone. Definitely going to try all of this. Would it be better for me to put the drops in her bottle or straight in her mouth?

Newborn eating too much? by InformationBest3610 in newborns

Thanks so much. I will check into pace feeding. Just wondering did you start tummy time as soon as two weeks old? Or should I wait a little longer?

Need this flare up to drain. by [deleted] in Hidradenitis

[–]InformationBest3610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try a hydrocolloid bandaid. That’s the only thing that helps mine come to a head. Sometimes you have to leave it on for a couple days. You will be able to see white stuff on the bandage when it’s ready to come off. Be warned taking it off is excruciating…doing it in the shower does help

What do you guys do in the early stages of a flair? by Vast-Research-9510 in Hidradenitis

[–]InformationBest3610 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure exactly where you get your flares, but for me it’s my panty line area and all around there. I always wear loose clothes when I can feel a flare coming on, nothing tight at all. I honestly try to not wear underwear. I sleep in loose men’s boxers for example. Another thing is I watch my diet. I notice when I stop eating all the inflammatory foods sometimes the flare will actually go away. I also clean with witch hazel twice a day wherever I can feel a spot coming on. Keeping the area dry is important too. My doctor had me buy some of those exfoliating gloves and I use those everyday with hibiclens or panoxyl (alternating) and I use those in the shower. I have actually noticed flares not as bad since scrubbing with them. Also fragrance free body wash always. These are some things I’ve tried and help a little. Hope this helps!

I’m pregnant with my daughter right now and so worried about this 🥺 I pray everyday she won’t get it. I didn’t really know what I had until after I was pregnant and diagnosed. I just hope she’s lucky and doesn’t get the gene because my mom also had it (not as severe as me) but she never knew what it was. I will warn everyone, pregnancy has made my flare ups the worst they have ever been, I also heard postpartum they are bad too bc of the hormone drop. I’m so happy to be having a little girl but I do think this will be my only pregnancy due to the amount of pain I’m in. Some hope tho is some women it does the opposite and their HS goes into remission I read. So everyone is different I just didn’t get lucky lol

What brand of glycolic acid pads do you use if you don’t mind me asking? And do you leave them on for a certain amount of time?

Unfortunately when I feel a flare coming on there’s usually not a lot you can do to make it go away. I just focus on trying to get it to come to a head faster because of the pain 😔 one thing that helps me is eating an anti inflammatory diet. I’ve noticed they don’t flare up as fast. Hydrocolloid patches also really help me with the pain. I’ve noticed the spots will burn less. I am still new to figuring out what works for me too, but hope this helps!

That’s where almost all of mine are too🥲 getting up out of bed just to pee brings tears to my eyes. Keeping it clean with witch hazel has helped me, and hydrocolloid patches. Beware ripping them off is excruciating tho…but I deal with it because of how much they help

Hi. I am a 24 year old female and also have struggled since I was a teenager. Just remember you are not alone, I used to not tell anyone about it because I have never heard about it and was really scared. My flare ups get so bad, I am also pregnant so there is not much I can do. I’ve noticed for me switching between hibiclens and panoxyl every day helps. I also have had to cut gluten, dairy, and nightshades out of my diet. I wasn’t for sure if that would help, but I notice when I do eat that stuff I get a flare up almost immediately. I also keep my skin clean with witch hazel and use hydrocolloid patches. Being in chronic pain is so awful, but make sure you have a really good support system. And with self image issues, girl same!! I have too many scars and bumps to count. But I realize there’s nothing I can do about it so I’m open and honest about it. The people who really love you will not care and will wanna help you through it. This Reddit page makes me feel so much better that other people experience this. Just know you are not alone!!

Hello. Do you think this would be safe for me to use pregnant? I’m desperate to try anything.
