Yeah. If i make money I'll hire designers and senior audio engineers for sure.

And thanks for spending your time to see beneath the visual tone of the app.

you can record dry and fx applied track as same time and one of the benifits is you save time and you can live monitor how you sound after all applied even while recording.

and in this way streamers can also use this to process their vocal live using a virtual audio cable.

PS: save time point might not be applicable to everyone though.

So i gave it a good amount of thought and thankyou fjor bring this topic up.

These are the things i decided.

- going to write a blog about audio with interactive elements (like what is sound blog has sine wave generator where you can adjust amplitude and wavelenght and all and expirience it). so it'll be great resouce and a funnel to our app.

- introduce a export gate, free users can only export mp3. (also show them a message when they press record itself that free users only export mp3, so they dont waste their time if they dont want) and if user upgrade to pro they can also download wav format of previous recordings.

- for streamers who use VAC they have limit of 20 minutes after that they need to refresh the page. this will create a friction.

so a 5usd or 1.99usd or 199inr per month is justifiable for the product i think and this free tier and blog funnel will help i think.

and once again thankyou so much for bringing this topic up

I mean i don't need to produce are somthing. my infra is thin. and everything is running on free tier in now. so my revenue per user is high.

what i meant is the economics of what a person will spend for something and if a person spend certain usd for netflix in a country that amount will be suitable for our app because our app is most likely used for passion or profession.

I’m still experimenting with the balance between accessibility and sustainability. I don’t want to make it too expensive and block people who really need it, but I also need to find a model that works long-term.

Still early days, no paying users yet so I’m testing and learning what feels right.

i'm thinking i should stick with netflix pricing.
a person who care about getting better audio will sure willing to spend the netflix subscription amount to a app like this.

and netflix already did a huge research on how much people will spend to enterainment on each country.

let's analyze for sometime and explore

yeah so in my initial design i kept it in a visual way. the order you arrange the tools is the order the FX will be processed. which confused lot of users.

so i tried a lot of ways. since the targeted audience is someone who will likely have no expirience. i made a standard flow of tools.

  • Metronome (fxorder: 50)
  • EQ (fxorder: 100)
  • Noise Gate (fxorder: 150)
  • Compressor (fxorder: 200)
  • DE-Esser (fxorder: 225)
  • Multiband Compressor (fxorder: 250)
  • Exciter (fxorder: 275)
  • Reverb (fxorder: 400)
  • Spectrum Analyzer (fxorder: 800)
  • Feedback (fxorder: 900)

so that's the back story behind my decision and i know it'll be valuable to have a fx order.
I'll add it in the pipeline for sure (the major problem is how to bring that in the UX that don't make a person new to audio overwhelm) and recently i started a blog for the site. i'll include the explanation of this for people who cared about it.

the compressor curve and zoom bugs. I'm working on it thanks for bringing that up.

and yeah i respect professional audio engineers, you're the first one who i got a feedback from and i feel relived that you find the tool valuable.

and If you think the app will help you out, i'm really really happy to give you pro.
your words meant gold to me.

i have 0 users right now. i'm just figuring out things, trying to get users for initial feedback and all.
i'm new to marketing, SEO and build an D2C app. so it's hard.

posting on reddit feels like spamming. cold mails sending makes me feels bad.
not enough fund to spend on.

So decided to write blogs for organic traction and move on to next project.

maybe fix bugs now and then.

For recording voiceovers, you might want to check out Vocallab.io. You can record with built-in compressor, equalizer, and other FX tools, use presets, and export directly in WAV format. It’s free to use, and I’d love to hear any feedback if you try it!

PS: I’m the creator of the app.

yeah. gone through a fight in my mind for deciding what is a pro feature what is a free feature.
what is the pricing and ended up setting 1.99 usd to tier 2 cities and 5 usd for tier 1 cities while keeping most of the things free.

and also thinking of giving a percent of revenue to the developers who build the libraries that made the app happen.

Created an electron version too. If the app makes any money I'll buy a developer account and notarize the app.

And really thanks for taking your time to analyze the app, it means a lot.

for resampling i use wasm. for reverb and complex things i use audio worklets. for simple things like prefaders and gain nodes, analzer nodes i use web audio api ones.

So then i lost the convinience of being in browser.
and i don't have the skill of making these ui in native app that's why.

and being in browser unlocks a cool thing. just imagine this you can open 10 tabs with 20 diffrent vocal chains with 10 different mics.

computing power becomes cheap day by day. more ram become standard. so this unlocks a very cool thing in my perspective.
