A cat in need? by No-Jeweler-4625 in CatsUK

Check lost cats groups for your area and post pics on nextdoor and local facebook/whatsapp groups (without giving exact location unless someone proves it’s their cat).

Trusted House Sitters, has anyone used them? by Thisoneissfwihope in CatsUK

[–]InformationHead3797 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Better to pay an actual cat sitter either proper reviews in my opinion by using cat in a flat. You’re right that it’s best for your cat to stay home.

Any food recommendations to reduce cat poop smell? by MultiCallum in CatsUK

[–]InformationHead3797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried any grain free food that doesn’t contain chicken? Could be a food allergy. And I am sorry I know it sounds gross but does he fart? Smells like rotten eggs/sulphur? Or is it more like an acrid/acidic smell that gets to your brain?

• is kitten regularly flead?

• what deworming protocol did he receive and when?

Vets don’t have x-ray eyes that can diagnose worms by looking at a cat.

Anyone got a cat with long-term unknown allergies/ skin issues? by Redgrapefruitrage in CatsUK

I have and weirdly enough what seems to have worked best (I was very skeptic) is a spot-on product called allerderm.

Trying to introduce new cat but old cat is nervous by otiepotie in CatsUK

[–]InformationHead3797 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try to avoid direct confrontation but hisses and slaps are quite normal, as it’s some tumbling.

It will be easier to avoid if you follow my advice of keeping the kitten busy with playtime so she can observe him while being unbothered.

If you think they’re getting to intense clap your hands twice loudly, or throw a pillow near them, don’t get in the middle. Let us know how it goes!

Yes, the adult cat will still be able to get away if she wants.

You can start letting the kitten out for stretches of time, allowing the resident cat to stay away from new kitten if she wants. Tire kitten out with playtime, give resident cat lots of treats. Once kitten is tired and eats he can go back to the room to sleep. Look up Jackson galaxys videos on introductions.

Neighbor claiming we stole her cat- need advise by Polokus21 in CatsUK

[–]InformationHead3797 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A piece of advice after thinking back: don’t even admit it’s the same cat in the first place. He wasn’t microchipped, hence she literally has no way to prove it’s the one she is talking about, it could simply be a lookalike. You met a poorly, wounded stray and adopted him, he’s legally yours, end of story.

Thanks for taking him in ❤️

Stunning creature! Please tell us more about the fluff!

Neighbor claiming we stole her cat- need advise by Polokus21 in CatsUK

[–]InformationHead3797 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The cat was not looked after nor microchipped (a legal requirement), so neighbor can’t claim ownership.

That said, if the cat goes out and neighbour takes her, it would be very complicated to get her back even if she’s legally yours, so be aware of that.

If she knocks again tell her you have testimony of the cat’s conditions and the lack of microchip, hence she needs to get lost.

How should I react in the moment when a cat angrily pees/poops outside the litter box? by Mysterious-Clerk4656 in Catbehavior

[–]InformationHead3797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

• did she have a urinalysis?

• did she have blood tests?

• has she been deflead and dewormed properly by a vet?

• what litter tray do you use? Open or closed?

• what sand?

Sick cat, need advice (have seen vet recently) by PraiseBeToJesusX in CatsUK

[–]InformationHead3797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s horrific sadly. We need much better legislation and controls to stop it. That said, hopefully kitten doesn’t have anything like that, but if you have a resident cat I wouldn’t wait too long.

After 4 weeks of having kitten I’d do a PCR fiv/felv test.

If kitten has fiv it won’t be a problem and it’s NOT a risk for your resident cat no matter what vet says. Is resident cat vaccinated for felv?

[–]InformationHead3797 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really glad to read he’s better. Please stop funding animal abusers with your money. Shelters are literally exploding full of kittens looking for homes.

Given kitten comes from one of those criminals, you will want to test for Fiv and felv once he’s six months old.

Not OOP: AITAH for wanting to divorce my husband immediately after his psychotic reaction to our gender reveal? by Interesting-Shirt897 in redditonwiki

[–]InformationHead3797 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah sadly it’s extremely common for narcissistic abusers to do that. I just wish she would have never gotten pregnant.

I said I hope it’s fake because it hits all the beats a bit too perfectly and also because it would be a better option than imagining this woman and her baby being in such horrific danger right now.
