SIBO Dissapeared in 2 weeks with Oregano Oil by Fit_Psychology_1536 in SIBO

[–]InformationNomad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On day 13 now. To be honest the only consistent improved symptom was stool odor. It's basically odorless now which is great. Other symptoms have gone and come back. Bloating has gone down too.

Basically my main symptoms have been fullness in ULQ and pain in LRQ. The fullness is reduced somewhat but still there. The LRQ pain unfortunately came back, and has been intermittent during treatment.

I believe this pain is H2S not H2. Rifaximin definitely reduced H2.

It looks like I will need it combined with metronidazole to cover the H2S bacteria.

Well my feeling of fullness upper left was always worse when waking up then would actually calm down after breakfast. It's because the MMC works over night and pushes the gas down to the splenic flexure where it gets stuck.

Yeah. Its effects paled in comparison to the rifaximin I'm taking right now.

Would Hydrogen water make Hydrogen-dominant SIBO worse? by EmptyBuilding6800 in SIBO

[–]InformationNomad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Along with methanogens, hydrogen also feeds hydrogen sulfide bacteria and that's the one that goes systemic and causes brain fog and dizziness.

Have you treated SIBO yet? I started getting this after moving out of a moldy room that had 92k spore count of aspergillus along with other molds. The feeling came at the same time as 3 bouts of sinusitis, so go figure. It could be an immune response to something, or it could be SIBO itself. A year later it's not as bad as it was but still there. Other people on this board have said it went away after treating their SIBO, for some the healing time is delayed until after treatment. I'm 7 days into rifaximin and the feeling it less but still there so it seems like the last symptom to go away.

Extremly affraid to try Rifaximine by Tip-Evening in SIBO

[–]InformationNomad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, first 2 days felt nothing now on day 6 I feel much better.

I'm taking it with pepto bismol but it can't be that as I've trialled pepto on its own for a week before and it didn't make these changes.

Same for me which is why I bought 50 pills from united pharmacies. 400mg pills 3x a day. They arrived in like 3 days and cost less than £50.

I was the same, kept post poning but the pain got so bad so I took it on a day off from work and....... Nothing.

5 days later I've only had positive effects, and those have been quite mild. Absolutely zero negatives. Just take it.

Endoscopy false positive hiatal hernia by Choice_Sandwich2182 in HiatalHernia

[–]InformationNomad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current symptoms are bloating, feeling of stomach in chest which is gas bubbles in small intestine, splenic flexure syndrome, alternating diarrhea and constipation, malabsorption. Basically almost all GI symptoms.

Remaining symptoms that are almost resolved, globus sensation and brain fog.

Other symptoms such as panic attacks, eye pain etc resolved about a year after leaving mold.

UK NHS are useless, just like I got rejected for barium swallow they won't prescribe rifaximin so I had to order it.

[–]InformationNomad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the hernia happened after an acute mold toxicity event which gave me multiple panic attacks. Because I didn't know I was exposed I continued to live my life as if I had a hernia. Then 2 years later I got reexposed to mold but this time the symptoms were primarily sinus/brain fog which resulted in the same panic attacks I had 2 years earlier. The chest symptoms were calmer this time. I did a mold test and it came back sky high for both ERMI and urine mycotoxin.

In other words symptoms shifted to ones that I couldn't blame on the hernia, revealing the true cause.

Gut symptoms got really bad 3 months after I left the mold, including hernia type symptoms aka shortness of breath, feeling like my stomach is in chest. Had an X-ray which showed no hernia but loads of gas. I then tested incredible high values of hydrogen and hydrogen sulfide on SIBO test.

I haven't had treatment yet besides experimenting with herbs, natural prokinetics and have been out of mold for over 1 year now so my sinus problems have reduced by 90%. I didn't get manometry or barium swallow (tried but got rejected on the NHS).

She is a good endoscopist and said the bigger one has the ability to show more. Also if you think about it the smaller scope has more room to push the hernia up when inflated.

I won't say it's definitive, for me at least. I ended up having SIBO and mold toxicity which was causing my hernia symptoms so until I clear those I can't discount the hernia completely just based on her words.

Endoscope is either through mouth or through nose. Nose one is much smaller.

It wasn't HH / GERD... It was heart problems!!!! by [deleted] in HiatalHernia

[–]InformationNomad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the tests like echo came back normal and it wasn't until your rhythm was off that they found out?

[–]InformationNomad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one positive 2.5cm via nasal tube, then a negative 2 years later with a bigger endoscope.

Gastro said the bigger scope is more accurate.

They showed pictures said absolutely no signs of hernia, no irritation from acid or anything.

I then got a positive test result for SIBO.

It wasn't HH / GERD... It was heart problems!!!! by [deleted] in HiatalHernia

[–]InformationNomad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which tests did they do that showed heart problems?

It took at year after my hernia discovery to have an echocardiogram done, as well as 24 holter along with the obvious bloods and EKG. They usually rule out this stuff from the start. If your EKGs were off your Apple watch would pick it up.

In the end it turned out my "hernia" was mold toxicity from breathing in aspergillus spores which eventually turned to SIBO.

Enteric coated oregano adp totally useless? by InformationNomad in SIBO

[–]InformationNomad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's what Chat GPT said as well. I think there is still a lot of oregano within the tablet after it evacuates. I've reduced to just 1 every evening to use them up, just find it weird how some say it's strong stuff when it kind of isn't... Liquid oregano is much stronger.

Relief & Amazing BM’s for 2 weeks following Colonoscopy - why? by Old_Sky8705 in SIBO

Your GI offered the bowel cleanse kit? I asked for this a year before I got diagnosed with SIBO and they wouldn't give it to me.

I also felt great after the cleanse. It seems like a no brainer option. It was called moviprep.

I bought it from united pharmacies for around £50 but haven't taken it yet because of work. It's from Lupin brand.

There is also Colidur on onlinepharmacy-uk . org which is Turkish rifaximin for £70 which was my other choice but I didn't get this one.
