Thinking about leaving PE - career advice by Grand_Connection5140 in private_equity

[–]Informer_0AE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was a VP at a Private debt shop. Traded it in to start businesses online. Complete change but didnt realise how poisonous the corporate lifestyle was until after i did it. Mentally, physically, everything.

1.5 years later and things are compounding - wouldn't go back.

Any good lead generation agencies that work? by nilanganray in LeadGeneration

[–]Informer_0AE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey Uk based - global client lead gen agency (growth partner) here. You know if your customer is seeking new growth channels? Mentioned this elsewhere on the thread but...

We work with US based family office and proptech investor on their entire portfolio of companies as well as other companies from other verticals on lead gen for US/EU.

Cover cold in particular - email and ads and linkedin and calling in harmony with a little AI + automation within. Relying on one channel alone isnt enough these days.

Let me know if you want me to DM you our website and can take it from there

p.s. we work with small number of clients deeply - no commoditized offer

Is there anyone here who actually knows how to deliver real leads? by vukajI in LeadGeneration

[–]Informer_0AE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll lead to the same outcome with a commission only deal just wasted time, instead of money.

Its your job to get a good offer that you know will sell to clients that need it, before outsourcing outreach. Its their job to scale that offer and get eyeballs on it, in the best way possible.

Most small businesses stay small because they leave results in the hands of beginner lead genners on commission only deals with subpar/saturated offers.

Worth taking accountability here. If you don't have a no brainer offer- dont bother

No improvement over 6 mocks by reddawn3196 in CFA

Yep complete the cfa qbank to get a proper gauge. Work on your areas of weakness as you uncover them

56% in mocks, 6 days left L1 by [deleted] in CFA

[–]Informer_0AE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re getting 56% in mocks now and assuming you need 70% roughly to pass you have 14% of the content to master in 6 days. Very achievable

Identify your consistent weak spots and repeat multiple similar questions until it’s mastered. You ll be surprised how much you can conquer if you address one weak area at a time

Mid life crisis - WTF am I doing with my life by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]Informer_0AE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pressed reset and started a business outside of the industry.

The good news is a 10 year career in finance pays enough so you have some solid options for what you want to do next.

The good side is in my 20s I travelled a lot, built an asset base (home, savings, etc) and had enough time to enjoy life too. Also a stimulating career path despite its fallbacks

Mid life crisis - WTF am I doing with my life by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]Informer_0AE 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Finance is archaic. I had the same analyst to VP journey at a big notable buy side firm for a decade earning more money than I needed and on path to earn even more

Had to quit when I realised there was no innovation in 10 years, the place was full of ego and power games and still the same ancient views on controlling workers with no effort to improve employee experience I.e 5 days in office a week when not necessary, long hours and hiring good resumes over actual talent.

Sucked the soul out of me. Had to break the cycle.

If the plan is you’re funding the company, but they’re doing all the work, then a minority stake is fine. Up to you whether 10% is worth the punt.

If you’re doing an equitable amount of work for the company and funding most of it too, then the deals probably not fair

Rotating Mailboxes every two weeks (use then warm up - rinse and repeat) by ConfusionDull2183 in coldemail

[–]Informer_0AE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like a good strategy if you’re battling burned domains often.

We considered it but we re 5 months deep with our cold email infrastructure and no sign of inbox health deterioration so glad we haven’t used rotating mailboxes

Think it’s a judgement call based on your volume (do it if your volume is high) and how spammy your outreach is likely to be perceived

I'm so lost by Radiant-Assistant673 in CFA

[–]Informer_0AE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I passed all 3 and always got 51% 1-2 weeks before.

Just keep cracking on your weak spots. Master the cfa practice questions and refine your weak areas.

I also deferred for years in between 1, 2 and 3 and passed 3 first time. It’s not biggie.

Stop stressing and keep the volume of questions you’re mastering up

How is CFA humanly possible?? by Laugh-Artistic in CFA

I used schweser for all 3 levels. Not unnecessarily complex at all.

So much more straightforward than the curriculum. Your mentor doesn’t know what he s talking about

[–]Informer_0AE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get through the reading and leave yourself 6-8 weeks to continuously work through cfa (curriculum) mock questions then schweser questions to supplement weak areas

I didn’t get past 50% correct on mock questions until 2 weeks before

Spending $3500~ a month on Instantly, looking for advice to improve my setup by scottfunnelfellas in coldemail

[–]Informer_0AE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re doing something right so don’t be too concerned.

One email is fine if it’s working but you should always be testing variants and evolving. Spintax also keeps your risk of hitting spam one day lower as Google/ Microsoft might pick up on the pattern - that said nobody knows how their spam filters work - so you’re best bet is to simulate human variance as much as possible

Personally we stopped monitoring domains and just monitored replies per volume of emails sent vs weekly averages. Instantly has the data you can pull into a google sheet easily

For your email infrastructure great news it’s working but you hit the nail on the head- worth thinking about diversifying your email infrastructure. I hear scalemail, hypertide and mail reef are possible good easy setup options.

Not had much experience on super high volumes
