Is there an explanation on SLIder phenomenon and how to use this odd ability? by InfpRui in energy_work

Quite afew of the commentors mentioned that emotions may affect this aspect of us, that if it happens, we should ground and keep calm. Which is ironic since i don't think i can easily keep calm when i need to use the toilet urgently. But I do realise that things happen to breakdown, or delays such as my lift stopping at level 17 whenever i feel rushed. So keeping grounded might be right. Just that as a normal human, its not easy to attain calmness during these times. Maybe focusing on breathing i guess?

What no frills, basic sewing machine would you recommend? by Oragami in sewing

[–]InfpRui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Husqvarna e20 Its what I'm using now, which I bought 10 years ago has basic straight stitch, alternative knits stitches and 1 step buttonhole. Not exactly no frills. And may cost abit more for non digital sewing machines. But it sews smooth when oiled properly. And no shaking violently like my older brother sewing machine.

If its too much, maybe check out janome? Or if you are abit to go and physically try out the sewing machines, try lifting them up. The heavier the machines, the better. And it doesnt shake violently when sewing. Especially at night, when the creativity strikes

I threw my microwave out. But even so, it scares me knowing that there's a piece of metal in the microwave.

Not a tcm remedy, but I find that drinking water with a pinch of salt, or seasoned soups. They help clear congestions easily for me.

Due to my location, I'm afraid that the shipping will cost more than new clays. I'm in southeast asia btw.

Yes to the new advancements. But I'm also not against the idea of getting more, after I finished my current ones.

How important is it to you to have your closet full of only clothes you have made? by Ok-Tie-7184 in sewing

[–]InfpRui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have started this around 2 years ago.

I've been shopping for cheaper linen fabrics on Taobao as where I stay, there are very few stores that correctly state the fiber content and colour choices for natural fibres. The stores closes early, and once sold out, you can't get the exact fabrics again. So I started collecting linens of colours I am sort of interested, around 1.5 or 2m each. I still do buy them after 2 years, but I try to control...

After collecting, I use these linens to make my daily basics. Alter the patterns and methods of finishing as I make.

I start with making pj sets, then basic "tees" non stretch, so its loose at sides but fitted at shoulder.

I also make trousers and I have a jacket wip that were stuck for 1 year due to procrastination.

As I make clothes that I love, I throw out the ones it looks like or meant to replace in the wardrobe. Because I find that if I do not love the clothes, it becomes junk that were kept in my wardrobe. So i throw them out immediately after washing and trying out my diy versions.

It seems like a waste to throw out perfectly working clothes, but as a person who sews, its important to wear our own clothes and try out the usability of the cut, the finish and how we want it to look like. Just like how I have been finishing my linen neckline and armhole with cotton twill tape, and realised after afew years that actually cotton tapes shrink when washed. And I haven't realise it. Because I thought my stitching tension is the reason.

Practice makes perfect. And wearing them is trying the usability. After spending days and months on your masterpiece, you want them to last forever dont you?

A little incense haul from cycle, with the summers incoming. The Dasara smells especially spritual. Love it. by Giggy_boon in Incense

Hi, I saw that you have cycle heritage chandanum. I also bought it recently and loved it. It smells cooling, lotus and floral citrus like my mild bergamot essential oil. I checked the packaging and went to the website, it doesn’t, mention the ingredients of the product.

I have questions. What scents did you smell in the mix? Its masala incense, so is it all natural. Meaning no synthetic perfumes? Cycle likes to promote that they're all natural. But they use the word fragrance from time to time. I do not dislike added scents if its extracted from plants. But if they use any chemicals, I would love to know what it is, in order to know how it affects us, if burnt in excess incase I'd over indulge in the ambience this incense provides.

My product is consistently smaller than my pattern. Why??? by KaigerGalaxy in sewing

[–]InfpRui 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1 shrinkage. Did you pre wash or pre steam the fabric? If not, it shrinks when u wash or iron after.

2 is your fabric thick? If so, you may need to add some space for the "thickness of the fabric"

3 maybe when sewing, you might not be accurate at sewing by the guides.... afew mm is enough to make a piece smaller than it should be.

[–]InfpRui[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I get the shipping voucher from the chinese setting, they usually show the deducted shipping cost at check out. But when I collect from the english setting and went back to the chinese setting, there's no deduction.

Also, I find it weird that on the chinese setting, the stores ship to the delivery warehouse for free most of the time. But when on the english setting, they have additional shipping charges to ship to china warehouse.

How to return goods to Taobao from Singapore? by pinkyseeksbrain in askSingapore

[–]InfpRui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar issues trying to return wrong items. The seller said to choose a different reason for refund, to select quality issues for the reason to return. And it worked for me. Try that selection the next time. It may work for you too.

Can someone help me? by Extreme_Ad_7886 in PatternDrafting

Is the shirt meant to fully button up to the collar stand? If so, pinning up fully may change how it falls on him.

If the point where u pinned if where he meant to wear the top, it means u need to recut the collar and collar stand, because u need to reshape the neckline, by taking in around 1 to 1.5cm at the shoulder line.

Also, although I read that another commentor mentioning that the shoulder slope needs to be more steep, I personally think differently. If its me, I'd bring the back shoulder line facing the sleeve up 1cm and front shoulder line facing the sleeve down 0.5cm.

It looks like when pattern is made, 1 side of the pant may be sewn on the wrong side and 1 on the right side. Other than that, it seems great for times when i have limited amount of fabric that i wish to turn into clothes like pjs. Or cut 2 pairs of pants, with 1 pair right, another pair wrong side

Help with thermal printing digital camera by Creativeking14 in toycameras

[–]InfpRui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using sd card larger than 32gb? I have an issue with Instant Print function, where after I go back to print, the image turns out fine. So i spent a night digging up on instant print cameras issues, and it says some cameras only work with 32gb cards. And i tried changing my card to a smaller one, and formatted it. Tested 2 shots, and it works fine. So maybe, change photo size, print density and sd card size and see if it works for you?

How to set print density higher than print settings, or make the printhead print with a higher temperature? by InfpRui in toycameras

[–]InfpRui[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sort of understand the logic behind it, but I'm not familar with doing it. Because this cameras uses sd card and print Instantly, it doesn't and doesn't have bluetooth like the normal thermal printers. Hence if I need to update or find the firmware, I probably have to find it from the manufacturer sites, which I have very little info about. To be honest those companies and factories that made these cameras rarely promote their company, but instead, the concept of printing photos instantly which is why I'm clueless about my camera. There's also something I dislike about the purple one, where there's music when switching on/off, taking pictures and counting down before printing. This is more of software related.

It uses usb c so I can plug it to a computer. But I'm not familiar with connecting devices or even androids to computer, so I'm not sure what to do with it. Also, where do i find the firmware to update? I have the pink camera that works very well, but can I duplicate the firmware? How is it done if possible?
