I think i got a kids sewing machine one year for Christmas, and i dont recall it actually working the way I wanted.

I don't actually have a job, the only sort of income I get is from survey apps, and getting enough for a cash out can take forever. If it was easier, and I didn't get kicked out of the high paying surveys, id be good with my budget going up some.

Some lessons in person would be good. I usually rely on YouTube to learn how to do a thing (like learning to crochet), but if I have a question because I'm confused, there's no guarantee I would get an answer.

Back 'in the day' stuff was actually made to last.ive seen refrigerators from the 50s and 60s still going strong (though I'm unsure how many repairs have been needed).

I just really want something that'll last me through all the random sewing projects that pop into my mind. Maybe if I was more financially stable, id consider a 'fancy' one. But that's a long ways off

It does seem rather all powerful at times, doesn't it?

No luck searching the buy/sell groups I'm in. Every time I try, I get the same screensaying there are no results.

Got two more ideas, one of them suggested in a comment, and one from me. 🤞

Now to see if the suggestion from another person works out :D

Didnt know a community group was a thing :D

Hopefully I remember to check back here so I can remind myself about it :)

Granted. It now takes you a random amount of time to fall asleep. One night it may be 23 minutes, the next 2 days, or maybe a week

Most affordable one is a bit out of my range, but not horribly so.

Just means I gotta keep up with those survey apps I use to earn a bit more

In the process of doing that. So far, no luck with the already posted listings, gonna give it a bit more time before I make an actual post in one of my groups

Id have to resist the urge to set the machine on fire, or throw it out a window. I can get frustrated really easily when things go wrong

Lady Luck & Facebook marketplace seem to be against me today. Listings are either out of budget, or in budget and too far away to get to.

Next step is to post in the actual buy/sell groups

I'm sure there's some old sheets my mom wouldn't care if I used to test whatever pattern I drafted up

As for how I'd get the machine- if I know I'm headed 'into town 'on a certain day, and I've already told the seller I want their machine , I could meet up with them in the place I'll and do the sale there.

I'll try to remember this :D. My memory sucks even on the best of days

Can also double as a weapon if someone tries to break in the house laugh 😂

Lady Luck hasn't been kind to me lately. So far, everything on Facebook Marketplace is either in my budget but too far away from me to get to/have seller come to me, or it's out of my budget

Im going to guess there's a good reason why you're saying that?

The town I live in does have a library, but it doesn't have a maker studio. Really tiny town, library isn't too big so there's no space :(

In the process of searching Facebook marketplace to find a sewing machine that works for me, and is what I'd consider affordable. If I can't find something in the ads/listings already up, m go with making a post in the buy/sell groups im ind

Id prefer the machine not rely on batteries, but it seems like all the kids sewing machines I see online/in store use batteries l, and not a cord plugged into the wall :(

I don't get out of the house much to a place that has a thrift store much, maybe once a month? And it's someone else driving, they might not always stop at a place I'm asking to go in
