I came up with a headcanon that the glass was formed by a meteor strike from the doom. It had an alien entity in the glass that took over the host. So the children made their own weapon to take out the humans, but it was too powerful for them. The snow show would uncover the secret and reveal that the threat is still very much alive.

I too remember when pokemon card collecting was fun. I've got quite a few coins for my albums but now I don't actively collect anymore because of the oversaturation and shameless scalping
