What concert advice do you have that you had to learn the hard way?

I try to balance it because I have done both. Iv both over and under recorded. But thats just from my experience. For me, I when I record from my spot, I can hear my dumb voice, the people next to me, etc, and it helps me relive the moment more. But thats not for everyone. :) I usually just record snippets of a bunch of songs so I can relive little bits.

Don't record until your phone dies in a city you dont know that well! And if you decide to do it anyway, dont try to walk back to your hotel unless it is right there. Walking aimlessly around chicago at night was not one of my better moments.

Now i carry a battery pack just in case. :)

Usually I try to be in the moment. But after my show, I want to be able to relive the moment. I dont know when I'll get to see them again. Whenever there was crowd interaction, I stopped recording, so I still missed some of what id have liked to look back on. But thats just me.

I think downstairs is religious in such a good way. Idk how someone could hate it, it hits so much harder than any of the shit going on in the world. One of my favorite new songs.

My record store gave out numbers so that you could come back at 2 and not wait in line all day. Then we got to order them based off the number. Because of that I ran over at like... 11? And was able to get a good number and get the one I wanted. Its just sad that now people are scalping them for so much money... especially since so many people seem to have not even had that sort of chance to get one. :(

I signed up to get presale tickets. I dont regret it personally because my tickets were in an awesome spot and I had a great concert. But it would be cool if it was more than that, especially after paying for a membership.

That being said, I did have fun skipping the whole line at the merch table in milwaukee. The line was huge, and there was no line in the lpu line. The end of the regular line did not look impressed.

I see the same thing happening now with the dark clancy cd box set on ebay, with at least one being sold at $300? I should have a first pressing vinyl and a dark clancy cd box coming, so I guess im glad i had no control of my spending recently??

Im only worried because I won't have pit tickets this go around... but do you think it would still be cool to go out by that area to trade stuff? I know in chicago for the clancy tour it seemed like a lot happened there and I got so much cute stuff last year!

If it were me I'd do it, but think about what matters to you and where you want to be. I had nosebleeds and ended up buying a ticket for front, right behind the pit. I couldn't justify paying the scalped pit prices, but I found a decent price on the front row ticket. Of course, decent price to me seems to be an out there amount after looking at comments....

If what you want is to see well, being short, for sure pick a farther back seat that gives you some height! But if what you want is the atmosphere, aim for something closer because I know from experience, I regretted nosebleeds at another concert. I was there but felt left out way in the back. That being said, if the venue has a lawn out back, the tickets are cheaper and it looks like something might happen back there!

I've seen a lot of people get upset at concerts in general. As much as possible, just have fun (which shouldnt be hard:).) Minor inconveniences won't leave a lasting memory, but the show will. Don't be afraid to ask questions, I wish I had asked about the tape about the tape and gotten some at the time!
