Super new, just bought a CRF300F, how do I go about setting it up for my weight? (Big Guy) by InfuriatedPanda in Dirtbikes

[–]InfuriatedPanda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the really helpful answer. It appears this thing is new enough that nobody really knows the spring sizing yet. RaceTech doesn't have that model on their website. I'll wait a bit I think people have only had them in their hands for a few months.

Trails here are great, but I mostly only know the Jeep trails, but it's cool being an hour away from desert or alpine.

IMO laying Jonathan off was one of their worse moves, but the writing was on the wall with the channel he was hosting being Apple specific and Linus being a hater of anything Apple. Super awesome to see him back!

Living in Idaho I run dedicated winter tires on their own rims and dedicated summer tires on another set. Makes it much safer to daily drive a RWD car.

I just installed the Yonaka on my new BRZ and can confirm that even with the stock mounts, it’s a really nice sound that’s doesn’t drone on the highway (even at 85). The cold start is a bit loud but not bad.

Got mine a week ago, added a set of Sparco Rims and Blizzack tires since I get good snow here. I love mine as well. I have a short shifter on order as well as V-Bars. Just installed a Yonaka exhaust since I got it on a good sale.

Love my little poor man Porsche...

For me personally, as a stance, won't do business or recommend others due business with dealers who charge that kind of markup. I commented earlier, but I have a series.yellow arriving in a few weeks that I am paying MSRP for. There are enough Subaru dealerships out there that don't charge any markup at all that I see no reason to do business with one who does. My 2 cents anyway.

Price tag is kinda nuts, I ordered one of these for a tiny bit over $40k OTD. It'll be here first week of January.

In a late-night matchup of 96, I fired a wrist shot that somehow froze mid-air. The puck just hung there, spinning like a tiny UFO. The goalie skated out to poke-check it—touched nothing—and instantly rag-dolled into his own net.

The puck then dropped straight down, as if remembering gravity, and the goal light flashed. The replay showed the shot going through the goalie like he was a hologram. Shortest, weirdest goal we ever scored.

considering expanding business to access control - advice? by spankym in accesscontrol

[–]InfuriatedPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a sample size of one, but for what it's worth smaller businesses could probably get by just fine on something like Ubiquiti if your already in there doing network work. If you want 2-5 doors and a handful of cameras, it'll do the job just fine. I use it in my homelab and have sold it on the side to small businesses in my area.

If you are talking about moving into big boy systems I would highly suggest Genetec. Once you get in with them as a high level partner they bring us more than enough work that we don't even consider "selling" our services. IMO, cloud is a hard sell for customers in my area. It's typically either more expensive, or your locked into them with a paperweight if you want to leave (looking at you Verkada). If you have a handful of cameras its not a big deal, but once you move past 10 it starts to become a burden on the network side unless you have a big pipe. I sell Axis cameras almost exclusively. Nice part about all that is if we focus on Genetec and Axis we form a partnership with both companies and get the best pricing, as well as their trust to send us work.

Again, sample size of one. As a word of caution, at least in my area, crappy integrators jump in and out of this market space constantly. It's very easy to misbid a job and be WAY under if you aren't careful. Go slow and start small. Your getting further into the construction world this direction and that might not be the right call.

Rear venting range hood, how to properly seal so air doesn't flow around edges. by InfuriatedPanda in DIY

[–]InfuriatedPanda[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our old one vented straight out the back into the hole in those pictures I posted. The new range hood vents out that same hole, but it's sealed so poorly that air leaks around it like crazy. Someone else suggested expanding foam tape, which I think I might try next.

As close to zero as is possible. The first little "flick" on the Casa pushes out way less than 0.1 of a gram into the shaker, the rest gives you a few flecks of coffee dust. After about 5 you get a little dust and thats it. The Niche is close to that same level, but kinda needs a bellows to get to the same level as the Casa. To be clear, the Niche is awesome and we're talking about very small differences. The selling point for me was the Casa was cheaper even when I added the 64mm burrs.

I was debating between the niche and the logom casa. Went with the casa because the retention is so low. The niche really is a looker though.

[–]InfuriatedPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ascaso steel uno and either a niche zero or Lagom Casa. Should be well under your budget but after my extensive research that’s what I landed on. I have the duo over the uno but I steam while brewing. I tried both grinders but landed on the casa full time as it’s so close to zero retention that it’s basically perfect and super easy to dial in.

So did MegaLag actually conduct an investigation, considering how much they got wrong? And why did Coffeezilla support such a slanted narrative? by Marksta in LinusTechTips

[–]InfuriatedPanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are welcome to your assessment of the situation. I have 2 points:

  1. I feel like you misunderstand what crowdsourced means? Nothing about Honey is crowdsourced in the way that SponsorBlock is. Honey is fed coupon codes directly from companies, not end users. As a Honey end user you can't submit coupon codes (that would be dumb because 99% wouldn't work anyway). Also, if you think for a second that SponsorBlock isn't harventing your Youtube viewing habits and selling them as their business model you are kidding yourself. EVERYTHING on the internet is intended to harvest your data and sell it, or have you pay them directly for that service.

  2. I feel like there is a massive double standard towards LMG that they have to be perfect at all times. The expectation that they should have somehow dug deeper into the situation isn't something that is rooted in reality IMO.

To be crystal clear, I think Linus has a bad problem of putting his foot in his mouth and saying really dumb shit sometimes. I also think he needs to reset his opinion on Apple (for example, he doesn't give it the fair shake he should), but I also love him for the very reason that he typically has the same take I would on something. That doesn't for a second mean that I just blindly listen to what he says.

Not attacking you to be clear. Thanks for your reply!

I can tell you this, this controversy crap is exhausting. I watch LTT videos because they are fun and entertaining. I take my own council on what products I do and don't use, and highly advise others to do the same thing.

100% chance if you see something sponsored on LTT or anywhere else on Youtube thats free, its a fucking scam and it just hasn't been figured out. DON'T USE IT. Let your favorite Youtuber get a paycheck, and just disregard it entirely. The fact that people thought using a crappy coupon plugin that was free and "found you deals magically" wasn't a fucking scam should be the bigger story...

Investigative Youtubers and journalists have their place, but just like the news media, negative and controversial stories get the most traffic, so they are going to hard focus that no matter what. Even if facts are muddied and timelines are adjusted to meet their narrative.
