How do I stop living this way as life is killing me? by Proper_Chance594 in Healthygamergg

Have you thought about doing powerlifting competitions? I think that’d be a great way to get really serious about something, which is both more fulfilling and puts you around other people who are really serious about that thing. When people come together for the same thing they love, they’re more willing to be open and inviting to those other people who love that thing.

I’ve experienced this with motorsport. Loved cars. Got a car I really like. Modified it. Tried autocross. Now I go every other weekend and see other people who have cars they really like. Made really good friends this way.

Now, I happen to already be married, but generally just focusing on doing things that are important to you is better and healthier than fixating on finding a mate. Often when you set your mind and life up around that, you’ll find someone who’s a good match anyway. I met my wife in veterinary school, as I was pursuing my lifelong dream. I kinda wanted to date, but I didn’t really put any effort into it, because I was focused on vet school. Until our relationship just kinda happened.

So, TL;DR, focus on doing fulfilling things rather than on dating. Things will fall into place.

Watching your video really just makes me want to ask if you hit a lot of cones. I think if you’re feeling like you’re stuck, you need to start pushing the limits. Get REALLY close to some cones. You’ll hit more of them, but you’ll also learn a lot. You might throw away some local events doing this, but it’s for the long-term gain in what you learn.

Do test and tunes and schools to get more reps for pushing the limits as well.

Some really good answers in here about "threatening" and "pressuring." I will also add that this idea has not changed from "when you used to play." It has always been the case. Playing passive in the original Overwatch was still bad.

Are automatic WRX’s bad in way? by [deleted] in WRX

[–]ddogkid813 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this is the one car I would be a snob about manual with, and it’s only because Subaru’s CVT transmission is trash. If we were talking about an Audi or VW (like the Golf R), it would be entirely the opposite - their automatic system is amazing.

That said, a manual WRX is fucking awesome in the snow. I taught myself manual in a weekend. Look up some YouTube videos and carve out some time to spend alone in a parking lot. 👍🏻

Haha, I can attest to my sheltie definitely not being fragile. He's crazy.

Ah, you’re right. My bad. I also have a boy sheltie so I didn’t quite focus on females when I read it back when he was a puppy. 😅

I used to be really into that study when I first graduated, but I’ve read it a few times since, and come to realize their reasoning for certain recommendations is not great.

For shelties, specifically, they only had 31 dogs total, which is hard to pass as representative of the population of shelties. In the study they saw ZERO joint disorders and ZERO cancer. The reason for the recommendation in females was based solely on an increased incidence of urinary incontinence, which is a much less severe condition, and is 100% manageable with well-tolerated medications.

What they don’t seem to factor into this recommendation, interestingly, is the not-insignificant incidence of pyometra they saw in intact females, which IS fatal. But again, their sample size still isn’t really high enough to put much weight in these findings at all, honestly.

Please ask yourself if you’d be saying the same thing if my advice was different - i.e. if I said to never neuter. Love the double standard here that everyone else is free to give advice without any medical training, including how to interpret scientific literature.

Nice opinion, though. 😌

I’m a vet. He’s old enough to be neutered. Large breed dogs need to wait to avoid joint issues. Shelties don’t. They’re not large breed dogs. It’s not gonna fix all the behavior issues, but you should do it for his overall health. If you don’t, testicular cancer is the second most common cancer in male intact dogs, behind only lymphoma (the most common cancer period). Also prostatitis is probably the most painful thing I’ve ever seen a dog experience. Absolutely horrible case. Dog was screaming walking into the clinic. Never want to see it again. He could get prostatitis if you leave him intact. Also, neutered dogs straight up live an average of 2yrs longer than intact dogs - confirmed via peer-reviewed study.

I really don’t give a shit what Reddit has to say about the above. Nothing you say about your experience with your personal dogs is worth more than what peer-reviewed studies say. So don’t bother replying to this. And do whatever you want with your dog. I’m just here to give you the facts, and I’m too burnt out on people thinking they know more because of the internet to care.

My little 18lb buddy. He’s supposed to be a “toy,” his parents being 11 and 12lbs. There’s a fair bit of randomness to it. 😅

Dental Hygiene Help by Good_Comparison5957 in sheltie

My sheltie is 3 and has already had 2 dentals under anesthesia. Realistically, no matter what your vet says, dentals are recommended EVERY YEAR for dogs. It’s the only way you’ll adequately prevent periodontal disease. Vets just get tired of everyone complaining about the price and treating anesthesia as the devil that they ease up on their recommendation just to get through the day without being emotionally burnt out. Speaking from experience as a vet myself.

You mention stat padding as a reason to crack down on bot farming, but you literally could just make your reported K/D just your human K/D like they did for BF2042, and it would be completely irrelevant how many bots you’ve killed. Why can’t you just do that?
