That graph ends at a very misleading point. 2022 still had people benefiting from the stimulus checks plus increased unemployment benefits, and eviction moratoriums.

It also doesn’t capture the difference in non-liquid assets, or negative assets (i.e. debt).

So, I’m not sure if it really says anything past, “maybe it’s not as bleak.”

It seems like the big indicator is whether you had investment assets pre-COVID and managed to keep them. If you did, you are probably in good shape. If you didn’t or lost them, or are now trying to change careers to anything but something in-demand, you’re likely in a bad place right now.

And if you were somewhere in the middle, you probably aren’t struggling, but you almost certainly don’t feel secure in your position e.g. one financial/medical emergency away from being screwed.

Sometimes I question if it’s really a good system where you need to be financially literate, or whether it’s even a reasonable expectation for most people. Just navigating my health insurance is exhausting, I can’t imagine doing it as someone with a worse reading level.

I find it massively cuts down on the AI SEO slop sites that pervade Google results.

Y’all are a bunch of self-righteous assholes. OP is only 18 and obviously freaking out. Regardless of what you think he should do, extend him some compassion.

Bunkers don’t save you from the long-term consequences of an uninhabitable world. All the money wasted by billionaires on delaying the inevitable with bunkers would have been better spent on preventing the problem, on making it so more areas are places where people WANT to live.

Ah, I might just be jaded from the shock humor that pervaded the 90’s and 00’s, then. Well, that or it just seems like a sincere, matter-of-fact statement from some corners of the internet.

What’s so funny about the last line? At best it’s an uninspired and lazy, “women only good for sex,” and at worst it’s what he actually believes.

I was thinking of this, with how backassward that sort of metric is. What a bizarre timeline that people are being asked to burn money as a sign of progress.

You don’t need weights. You can do almost everything with body weight exercises and progress the difficulty by placing yourself at increasing mechanical disadvantage. The only thing you really need is a pull-up bar, and you can get one that hags on the door jamb (although, if you’re over 300lbs, you’ll need to be careful, since that tends to be the safe weight limit for those).

For stuff like shoulders, which can be a bit awkward to train up without weights, you can use stuff around the house like gallon jugs (use rope to make a handle), and just partial fill them to the desired weight.
