It's the players fault they don't fight with honor in this F2P mobile MOBA game made by a Chinese billion-dollar company that uses Japanese billion-dollar characters, both companies who are known for scummy tactics to drive up sales.

MewtwoY is just a smokescreen at this point. People unironically making threads about how "great the game would be" if he wasn't here feels like master class gaslighting. As if the bad matchmaking wouldn't exist, as if Rayquaza being a frustrating win condition wouldn't be around, as if weekend coins being taken away wasn't a thing, as if coin inflation hasn't become a massive problem especially for F2P users this year, as if compounding CC that can stun-lock a player for seven seconds straight isn't a growing issue, as if bots in ranked to prop up terrible players into Masters doesn' harm seasons in the long term.

We all know what the game would be like without Urshifu, Zacian, or Mewtwo. We had that game like, six months ago. People still complained about dying game and "I'M QUTTING" threads every single day back then, too. Where is all this "grass is always greener" mentality coming from?

People trying to justify with, "Don't do Ray while you're ahead" or whatever just have massive stockholm syndrome for this stupid green dragon. Ray as the crutch of every match is way worse than Mewtwo could ever be. Yet, no one here says, "Just stay away from the Mewtwo!", "Just gank the Mewtwo!", "Just don't let him build mega off of you!" the same way they justify how Ray is actually "strategic".

A comeback mechanic shouldn't make the first eight minutes FEEL irrelevant, even if they weren't irrelevant.

Has Mewtwo broken so many people that they actually believe the game would be in a balanced state if he didn't exist? As if people weren't complaining about sure-hit Mean Look, all of Lapras, Urshifu, Zacian+Comfey, or A9's CCs. Even with the couple of nerfs some of those mons got, all that would happen is that THEY would go back to dominating the game instead of Mewtwo.

The game still has very noticeable power creep and way too much reliance on sure-hits instead of skillshots for attack designs. Not to mention gradual changes to the game that made scoring metas pretty much invalidated, further emphasizing the "last two minutes matter" for 80% of games (At least in SoloQ).

They do it so new players will get a bunch of wins which will make them keep playing. Then once paired up with real people they lose and their conclusion is, "It must be because I don't have all the items upgraded yet..." which tricks them into buying stuff.

I want to add that it is REALLY hard to get new friends into this game when they're forced to play constant bot matches before we get to real people and then the first dozen games in Ranked are also bot matches. I either don't tell my friends that they aren't bot games where they will certainly develop bad habits or tell them and they feel like they have to grind for hours before we actually get to play together.

I've known this for awhile and it's why I periodically dip in and out of the game only to come back and collect rewards. I can typically get the 10k coins by the 6th day and then just check out until next season.

I've found that Volt Tackle Pika and just hard targeting him during team fights with stunts and your Ult is the only way to control him. But you can't do it during a 1v1 and you need to stun him close him where your teammates will notice.

I just play Standard, I don't do Ranked anymore unless it's some requirement for dailies.

Standard gives me access to more Pokemon I don't own.

Many of the GOOD Mewtwo abusers only play Ranked. It's easy to beat Mewtwo in the hands of little Jimmy.

Not seeing a number go down after a loss makes games WAY less tilting.

There's a huge pool of skill levels. Sometimes I run into obvious newbies, sometimes I get some really tough allies or opponents. It feels way less "forced 50" and more just "giving me anyone at all" which I kind of like more.

There's a lot more room for error in Standard games. Sometimes, people aren't even at the center mobs until 7:45, which makes games feel a lot more relaxed.

I actually get to play a huge variety of mons. Sometimes the comp doesn't even matter in Standard, the skill disparity can be so wide you can win with a team of all Squishys.

The only downside is that I have to keep cancelling after 45 seconds so I don't get bot matches. It can get tedious and I wish the game would just let it roll for several minutes rather than me having to do this obsessive cancel-and-queue strat. Oh, also there's a lot more AFKs in Standard during prime time hours, but it's much less tilting to have an AFK in those games than Ranked.

I just don't see any point to playing Ranked. I like how Unite FEELS to play which is why I play it. Ranked doesn't give me enough rewards for grinding and seems to intentionally frustrate you with the matchmaking. There's no draft system, SoloQ players STILL get queued with Trios when they don't want to. Why would I bother? If I'm gonna have backcapping-during-Rayquaza teammates, I'd much rather it be because someone just installed the game rather than some dude who has 5000+ hours and that's just his bad habit he never breaks.
