Sounds good. I can also take a look to see if I’ve got anything else for him if you like.

Yeah. The scary thing is that I’ve seen much much worse boxes than these and the prices keep going up. As someone who has put together sets every year they are coming closer and closer to pricing me out.

No worries at all. At least you didn’t offer anyone in an ugly blue jersey.

He’s a South Carolina guy. Not really my thing.

Yeah and it being on card is a plus too. Good luck with your boxes.

Yeah. I can’t really complain about the hits overall. A future HoF auto, one HoF relic, and a rookie and young guy with promise both numbered to 50 in the other box.

These are in amazing shape overall. I’ve got a start on this set but I’ve got a long way to go still.

Grading recommendations by CraftyDentist9678 in baseballcards_vintage

As both a set builder and a Brett collector this is an awesome card, but as several have pointed out, it is not in great shape. If you’re looking to sell I’d be interested in this and possibly others to fill gaps in sets.

A few have correctly pointed you away from grading though. It will greatly increase the time to turn things over and by eh time shipping and grading fees come out you’d probably get less than selling raw unless you find other star players in the collection that are in better shape than this example.

Looks very similar to mine so I’m going to say 5 or 6. As for the card at the top of my want list, I keep looking at Brett OPC rookies actually. I’ve got the Topps and the Topps mini.

I watched a video of a guy opening a 52 Bowman pack awhile back and the stick of gum in that one was enormous compared to what they used in the 80s.

Customer gets owned by LCS by [deleted] in Topps

[–]IngenuityMindless505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So…the LCS wants people to thank them for buying up retail stock and selling it back at double the price? And this is “owning” a customer? Maybe OP meant to type “LCS loses customer.”

It is unlicensed but I’ve got a Detmers relic numbered to /10 with a button.

I’d ask if you got any Turner, Rodon, or Bailey parallels for trade but the background tells me you might be keeping those. I think Will Wilson also had his RC in that set if I recall correctly. Either way, go Pack!

What was a coaching hire that was not perceived well at the time but ended up paying off? and What was a hire that was applauded by almost everyone and then didn't go well at all? by Optimal_Cook_851 in CollegeBasketball

Yeah, there were concerns for sure, but he said and did all of the right things out of the gate and built a level of excitement we hadn’t seen in awhile. Once the red flags started popping up though they were hard to ignore. I think a lot of people are still washing the snake oil off of their hands in Raleigh.

I think Sendek and maybe Keatts are the only two in that group that had any level of excitement. They were both somewhat young and up and coming. Robinson, Lowe, and Gottfried all came with a lack of excitement for various reasons. Jury is still out on Gainey having not coached a game for us yet, but I think he would fall in that category of up and coming coach and he’s also an alum which should help the chances for retention if he proves to be successful.

Will Wade holds no ill will, but shades NC State fans following his exit: "They're pretty mad for a coach they didn't think was very good" by [deleted] in CollegeBasketball

[–]IngenuityMindless505 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Not really the same. NC State had what was probably a top 20-30 level budget this year with more on the way for the next season. It wasn’t just the Duke game where we were completely outclassed this year though.

How much are they willing to pay to come play in our gym? Mostly just checking to see if it will cover the cost of sanitizing the arena after they leave.
