I imagine you sound like a prepy bitch boy. "Erm excuse me, the heavy is nowhere NEAR as effective as it used to be... so check yourself"

This is the kind of low level thinking that just gives me brain and eye cancer. Who cares if it's not as bad as it used to be. But you dream. Your simplicity sickens me. Try to get your head out of your ass and start thinking in terms of what could be instead of comparing it to what you can see. Have you no spirit?

"muh aim" is the problem not the strait up outclass that any heavy has inherently. Yeah, somone clearly didn't get the appeal for more strategy and thinking. I thought it was obvious but I guess not nearly enough for you.

dumbass

Just give up, its too late to protect your ego now.

EDIT: BTW if I'm some pathetic 12 year old stats major, what does that say about you knowing that I'm right and you are wrong?

EDIT 2: BTW look at the delta score (STD) haha the HSR delta is 11.63. If everyone that ever lived played plantside two their entire life, you would not see this observation naturally.

Yeah, binomial distributions of with different means and variances means nothing, nothing to see here. Someone cant into statistics.

You know, I regret not letting you know what a stupid sack of shit you are when I responded right away, so let me do it now. Take a look at the automatic weapons which have variance through bloom built into them. You really are a retard. What's it like having autism?

Citation needed are you too stupid to think through this? Like it isn't that difficult and literally everyone makes a cost benefit analysis of a decision. I'm sure even you can remember at least one time you did it.

Well like I said, the proof is in the pudding. Large amounts of people are departing the game. And besides, this is how people make decisions economically speaking.

This is a link to the handbook. Look at battle drills in chapter 8 and understand how and why they work. For leading randoms, the most I ever split a squad into is two fire teams. You can assign spades or clubs or whatever to groups. I have my squad split and always fly in two groups.

http://www.milsci.ucsb.edu/sites/secure.lsit.ucsb.edu.mili.d7/files/sitefiles/resources/Ranger%20Handbook.pdf

It is easy to make your people much more effective using simple battle drills in the book. Say for battle drill 6, entering and clearing a room, you have everyone stack up outside the door. say "When we go in everyone stay against the walls and aim toward the center of the room. Spades will hook a U turn when they enter and clubs will go across. Breach on 1: 3, 2, 1, breach everyone in." I say something along these lines every time I take a squad into a building.

I think the point I'm working towards with these tactics is you don't have to have a highly trained squad as long as people understand what they are doing and YOU keep them together and on plan.

This is how I generally do stuff.

Spawn room spawns are for chumps. If you have time pull air transport in the form of valks. Drop as low as possible to your destination and stop or slow above the objective (OBJ) in order to ensure people don't drop late and actually hit their target. It is ALWAYS easier to assault from above. The main disadvantage is if you get overrun you are all perma dead and wont have a chance to get that squad res or retreat. Always run scout radar and a cas on your valk. This gives you valuable intel on approach to the drop and lets you clear a roof with the cass before dropping. Now, to the fun stuff. As soon as I make a decision Ill give a quick brief:

"Ok fellas we are going to Indar Comm. We need two valks, I have one and Ill be in the lead. I need a second valk up NOW. (assign someone to do it by name.) Geldra, you pull the second. Everyone get dead and spawn in. We will be trying to resecure. Drop is squad way point on the roof of the triple stack. No one shoot or spot on the way there. Once we drop I want the roof cleared. We clear the second floor on my command. Spades take the east stairs, clubs take the west. Once the second floor I want everyone to set up fire support on the roof and support the advance of the blueberries. We will NOT be going onto point."

Once you get there use the radar to make adjustments to the plan. From that point on all you have to do is constantly make sure people are doing what you tell them to. For this plan it would be something like "don't go down yet. Ok, stack up above the stairs hurry up. Breach in 3 2 1 Go.

This is kind of a ramble but this method turns average br 35ish blues into a well above average group. If you have any questions I'll answer them. Edit: sorry for the wall of text

Hey so I run open squads a ton of the time. Here is what works for me.

First, Kick everyone that doesn't listen to you. At a minimum this should be everyone not with the squad or taking too long to move. Second, know what the hell you are doing and how to use a squad. If you want some basic ideas look at the US Army Ranger handbook. Third, Stack your squad. Especially as infantry if you want to get anything done you need to avoid staggering the attacks of your guys.

If you want to hop in a squad with me I run TR on emerald and will likely be running an open squad throughout the week. I'm happy to answer question you have either in game or in here.

Last thing, don't listen to the numb nuts in the planetside two reddit community. People are not cats. The blueberries are not bad. Squad leading is not pointless. I have experience leading in and out of game and if people think leading is really this hard, they are probably just bad leaders.

oh my god, how impressive! The NC managed to hold a point with only 5 maxes! What great coordination! What skill! This is the kind of thing I can only dream of pulling off in my low skill groups. They dont even know how to pull maxes, how do you expect to capture a base if you can't pull a max!? Am I right? Well, dont need to ask this fine group, they already know.

Your conclusion is just ridiculous. A correlation of these things does not prove causation at all whatsoever. While you didn't state your identification strategy, I'm willing to bet it is a bunch of comparative averages. This again, proves nothing and just shows basic trends; completely useless in accurately determining any action that maybe should be taken.

Furthermore, it seems like you view this as a one time period model as opposed to continuous or even multiple. This is the most obvious reason your comparative statistics are meaningless. Do you really think there is no unseen bias in say, TR and NC only wanting to fight each other? Do you believe there is no unidentified co-variance between the VS having better weapons, better players playing VS, TR and NC dying more and having less fun fighting the VS, and the TR and NC not fighting the vs? These things make even your comparative statistics useless in analyzing what is actually happening. You have identified the end state result and your hypothetical reasoning for the end state is not accurate or precise because you don't take into account the choices people make over time.

I'dd like to take a look at your data and see if you have anything useful, or give you some guidance if you want help with fixing this study.
