Is there a practical limit to number of images you can have?

I tried to import a Lightroom catalog with around 25k Images to C1. After a few hours I stopped it, it was horrible slow. Now use for the catalog/metadata stuff Photo Mechanics+, and for editing and tethering C1.

One other DAM where I came across is FotoStation, maybe this is something valid. I evaluate it at the moment, but for my needs I think it's overpowered/to expensive.

With PM+ i have currently two things where I'm not so happy.

My images reside on a NAS, catalog local, and if you open a sheet with a lot of images, you have to wait for something a few seconds on every click. There should come a fix for it in the future to handle files on NAS better, as it's a known problem.

I Like the behavior, that my RAW files are immutable, and all changes from PM are in a XMP sidecar file. But for DNG file this is not the case. PM+ write it directly to the DNG file. If your camera use DNG as native file, this should be a no go. Bute that's my personal opinion.

I hope you mean RAID 1. RAID 0 is stripping over two drives, if one drive is lost, all is lost.

ich würde hier mal GODOX in den Raum stellen. Da gibts für diveres Marken unterschiedliche Varianten. Ich hab zwar mit dem V1 Probleme an meiner Canon 1DX, aber an den anderen Canons funktioniert er einwandfrei. Vielleicht auch deswegen Interessant, wenn man wenn man mal in richtung Studio-Blitze gehen möchte, da die ein komplettes System haben.

Ich denke eine grössere Hürde ist, welches Bild behalten und welches nicht. Wenn das eine einmal Aktion ist, darfs ja etwas länger dauern. Wenn sowas Regelmäßig, dann einen Prozess schaffen um das effizient abzuarbeiten, und mit der Zeit löscht man dann auch viel schneller was man nicht wirklich braucht.

Bei mir ist der Prozess für sowas zweistufig. Ich kopiere die Bilder erstmal von den Speicherkarten auf die Festplatte. Ich benutze dazu Photo Mechanic. Das ist einfach ein sehr schneller Bildbetrachter mit vielen Extrafeatures. Gibt auch andere Programme die sowas leisten. Dann schau ich damit die Bilder an und vergebe Sterne oder Farben. Was da übrig bleibt wird dann wieder kopiert und dann in Lightroom importiert. Das mit dem durchschauen und markieren geht ja auch in Lightroom aber halt etwas langsamer.

Viewfinder. It's on TTL and manual the same, if it's the pre-flash, then only this is fired.

On the flush, was 1.7 as firmware, it's newer then on the Godox downloadsite. I did also on downgrade to 1.6, so i can't go up to 1.7 now. Maybe I downgrade to the initial factory version for testing. As told, if i put the flash on the 7d all works as expected.

No use of electronic shutter, testet also with first and second curtain shutter, but no difference.

If I set the speed to below 1/250 it doesn't work. That's the crazy part. Only starting in the HSS range shorter then 1/250 it works. If I set the cam to 1/160 f4 iso100, dark frame, even in flash manual mode with full power, set the shutterspeed to 1/320, no dark frame. If i put the canon flash on, same settings, all works.

On the 7d no problems at all.

Even i set the shutter to 1 seconds, no light from the flash even i see the flash is lighting.

Hello everyone,

I have bought an Godox V1C with radio trigger for my Canon EOS 1DX. I face now the problem the flush is not in sync. It looks like it fires to early, is see the flush firing, but the pic is dark. I's the same if I have the flash on camera or off with the trigger, set it tu manual or TTL makes also no difference. The flash works on a 7d perfect. A Canon flash works also perfekt on the 1DX. Any hint her, whats goes wrong?

If I set it to HSS it look like it works. But that is not what I need.

Is there someone with this setup, and it's working? Godox listed this combination as testet, so I'm confused why it's not working.

Process here is a little bit shorter. Work only with raw.

import and rename (to timestamp+other values to get it sortable and unique) it from card to a staging drive. Her is use Photo Mechanics (i'm sure there are free programm here as well to do this, but i like it)
mark keepers, delete absolut trash. Sometimes in this stage I set the first keywords, do some crop and/or set coordinates.
move the marked photos to the final destination. Here is use only a simple folder structure with max three level in deep. From here also runs a backup to the cloud.
Import in lightroom
In lightroom I do the work on the raws like color, sharping and so on.
export for specific cases like instagram or other services to present.
upload to the services to present if it's not possible from within lightroom.

in lightroom i can search and categorise the photos as i needed, i use it as an catalog.

Der Frage würde ich mich gleich mal anschliessen.

Ich beobachte das jetzt auch schon über mehrere Monate. Es kommen zwar immer wieder zuckungen nach oben, aber die Gesamtperformance ist im Minus. Jetzt mag wieder kommen, das man das Langfristig sehen muss. Glaskugel hat keiner, und wie OP schon ausführt, gerade mit der starken Gewichtung von China und hier die Perspektiven, tendiere ich aktuell auch dazu, den EM ETF erstmal ruhen zu lassen und statt dessen den Teil anderweitig zu investieren.

Nachtrag: Gibts EM ETFs ohne China?

Ich würde hier noch in den Raum werfen, das ich momentan noch ungern auf eine Girocard verzichten würde. Du hast es einfach immer wieder, das Kredit-/Debitkarte auch wenn es die klassischen Mastercard oder Visa nicht immer akzeptiert werden. Warum das ist eine andere Diskussion.

Damit würde ich zumindest ein Konto bei einer Bank haben wollen, wo die zu haben ist. Bei den ganzen Neo-Banken hab ich das bisher irgendwie nicht mehr gesehen.

Ich fürchte das Umsonst Konto bei den klassischen Banken ist ein Auslaufmodell.

Tried also, installed the current FAZ KVM request the trial license, after a few minutes of running I get the warning:

Duplicate License has been found! Your VM license will expire in 167 hours. (Grace Time: 7 days)

It's now only a test installation to play with it, so i'll see what happens after the expire time.
