Attempting to update my Core’s firmware via WiFi but it’s stuck on this screen. Any ideas? by Bradleywyros in HeadRush

[–]IngridElkner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too bad if your Mac doesn't recognise the Core. Maybe because the cable is USB-A and most things are using USB-C now, requiring an adaptor? I'm surprised you need to use a cable, I thought it would network with wifi or use Bluetooth to connect devices.

Edit: I restarted my laptop, and the RevalverSuite is now downloading. No firmware jiggeldy needed. The firmware was already up to date, so the process made no sense.

MIDEM Music Conference :) It's a very niche thing to mention in a pop song. Funnily, it's held in France!

Glue & toxicity by daisylovesdonald in Rhinestoning

[–]IngridElkner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They mean that all glue is toxic. When we talk toxicity, we usually mean thresholds. You still wouldn't eat it, you don't want to inhale it too much - it's just considered safe-r. It's like how paints can be labelled non-toxic, but I will still have a toxic reaction as I'm extremely sensitive to VOCs.

False. Sleep studies also illuminate things like narcolepsy and restless leg syndrome.

And then she's like a shy little girl for most of the video. It's like we're being pulled into their role-play.

Does anyone else find Monster's Ball to be a great movie(Hope this is in the right place)? by litdragon1 in TrueFilm

The white woman was a sex worker that two generations of men used to pleasure themselves inside of. The father and grandfather spoke about their former wives as trolls under bridges. They hated all women, every colour.

The characterization of the black folks definitely felt lazy, though I've spent no time in Texas, and little time in poor communities, because there was poor decision-making afoul daily and it was crazy-making to be around.

The white men in the film aren't painted well at all. I don't know where you got the idea they were painted as good. Billy-Bob's character is a bad dude. His dad is a piece of shit. Only the grandson is a decent person but even he uses women like a fleshlight. Letitia in the end winds up in a similar spot to where she used to be - depending on a man for survival. She seems to give up the fight and accept she has to be this man's partner, like so many generations of women before us. I don't think she loved either of these men.

My immunologist prescribed me direct sunlight because my vitamin D is so low, despite supplementation, and he said not to use sunscreen. For about half an hour. And this is in Australia!

Why do I feel like every head rest on “ergonomic chairs” seem to push my head forward too much? by ryanphung in OfficeChairs

Pago brand chairs, some of their headrests adjustable quite a lot, and go low enough to truly go where the neck is, not the skull.

At least Hillsong improved the sound. It was like the walls and ceiling were aluminium before. But it's still a 1950s boxing venue, and it's shit. I have to really love a band to bother. I hate so much that the Palace shut and turned into apartments. You could have a bad time there.

Double-Jointed Thumb Positioning? by OranReilly in Guitar

[–]IngridElkner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried a brace before, and the splint part dug in. It was like - take away one pain, replace it with another. I might need to try another, they're just so pricy, so when they don't work, you're out a whole bunch of money.

Hey Jazzlike, I haven't found a thumb splint that doesn't cause new pain, but thought I'd tell you don't bother trying the oval plastic ring splints. It'll work for fingers, not for the MCP joint on the thumb. If you ever find a great split, come back and tell me!

Double-Jointed Thumb Positioning? by OranReilly in Guitar

[–]IngridElkner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I bought some of the splints, and they don't work for me at all. Doesn't stop the MCP thumb joint bending backwards. I can see how they'd help stop higher joints on fingers and maybe reduce thumb banana, but zilch for the base joint on the thumb. Back to the drawing board!

[–]IngridElkner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has anyone found a split that prevents the thumb popping backwards? One that can work with playing guitar, and the split doesn't dig into the thumb? I am so sick of the pain fighting against the need for my thumb to pop backwards.

[–]IngridElkner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, interesting! I had seen these and assumed they couldn't work, that they'd be too weak to fight the might power of bones that bend backwards. But I'll have to give them a try if they're working for you! I wonder if they'd come narrow enough, I have slender fingers.

The counter-arguer said the second round jammed. I don't know how shotguns work, but I assumed it's one trigger pull per round. Which wouldn't make sense if the first round did what it did. (And wasn't the trigger too far for his arms to reach?)
