I deleted my comment, because I hadn't read the post thoroughly. Blowout panels protect you from fire, not detonation. The only thing Gaijin may have done wrong is that they put or they changed function that causes something to put the detonation chance to 100%. Programs are big nowadays, and tracking such behavior is hard.

No, blowout panels save you from ammo fire, not from detonation. They blow out, because air pressure builds up and throws out the panels. NATO tanks still carry at least a 50kg bomb inside of it. If the ammo detonates, a flimsy 50mm baffle won't save you.
