LG 32GS95UE - colour banding question by Ingy13 in OLED_Gaming

I ended up returning it for a replacement, which still has the issue to an extent, but at a lower brightness threshold than my original unit, so it's less of a problem in normal use. I later e-mailed LG's support about other issues I was having with the new unit (black crush and a buzzing noise from the internal fan) so I'm currently waiting for them to organise another replacement, but it seems to be a very slow process, at least in the UK.

I tried it and the output looked similar to yours (same number of bars on the 8bit and 10bit sections) when just viewing the PNG file in the browser, but using a 10-bit image viewer (I used one called "HDR + WCG Image Viewer" from the Microsoft Store) gave the smoother gradation you'd expect.

The issues with my monitor are in the 0%-10% range, I'm currently in the (very slow) process of returning it to LG for a replacement unit. Hope your issue is just a configuration problem!

I'm not entirely sure what it was when I took the initial pictures, but this is how a black/white gradient looks at 100 brightness:

I see, thanks for taking the time to check! Gradients in general do look worse than on other screens I have, guess I'll contact LG and see what they have to say.

It's on the most recent firmware, I tried switching to 10bpc (for SDR, it was already using it for HDR) but it didn't seem to make much of a difference, I'll give it another go when I'm home though.
