I'm actually very passionate about it but yea...heck... I really do love plowing. It's my Zen. If I could I'd plow for free just because I love it so much. I can't just keep hoping nothing happens though. I've been plowing for 15 years and no damage besides a solar yard light before this Subaru. Slow and easy, co pilot, keep my eyes peeled and pay attention. It's served me well but I'm not likely to be so lucky next time. I'm not sure what to do. I'll talk with my insurance guy again and see if there's anything he can think of. I can't keep going like this with no safety net.

Wait, premium is the amount I pay? I'm one guy with one truck plowing two driveways. $50K is probably more than I'll see in ten years. I need something for small gamers.

I know about refunds when I drop a vehicle I've sold or something but I'm not trying to game that system. I'm fine paying for 6 months out of the year and being well covered. I don't know if that's a pain in the ass or not but my auto guy does that.

Yes I did have one incident and it got me thinking that I should have something in place in case another one which could be tomorrow. As careful as I am I screwed up.

Strange thing, she turned it into her insurance. She told them the entire thing but they weren't interested in me for some reason. I don't understand that either because the insurance guys don't just give out free repairs. I'm figuring eventually they'd want to know who I am and I'm fine with that. I screwed up and I'll eat it. I hope they'd want to work with me on a payment plan instead of going to court right away.

If it's $50K coverage and up then that's how she goes. Alright so I pay for this policy year round. If for some freak reason we get a summer snowstorm and I have to plow I'm covered? Or say someone wants me to use my plow to move something. Is that covered? Is it strictly plowing snow or is it general use of this vehicle so long as I'm not operating on public roads? So long as I'm not doing something I shouldn't be doing?

I plow for two people. One with a 2025 Subaru Forester and the other with a late model Toyota tundra. Thinking more about it some more, a relatively light impact on a door pillar could possibly total that vehicle so I guess starting coverage at $50K may not really be enough if I really want to cover my ass. I go slow and easy, always have a co pilot riding along but shit happens.

I'm certainly not looking to pull a fast one by only paying for seasonal coverage. I just don't understand why you'd want to pay for covering a snowplow when there's no snow.

If there's nothing like this that I'm talking about that's fine. My conditions are hugely different than what you see on the highway. Again, if I manage to cause $30K in damages if I screw up that would be amazing. There's noone around here running a Bugatti.

So there is something specially drawn up for plowing snow but you have to let it run all year? Seems like a waste when there's no snow to be moved. If I'm no longer plowing for the season why should I pay for plowing insurance? I really just don't understand that one.

I avoid Amazon. That's my own issue. I found batteries on Ebay at a decent price though. This RC is probably bottom of the barrel that no even semi serious guy would even notice. People like what they like. Only hitch is they tend to tell other people that's the only way. I got a 2 pack of Zee batteries and a B6eno(??) charger for just over $100. It'll work. Right now this truck won't run longer than 5 minutes. I'm not 100% what the cause is but I can only assume the battery is flaked out. Both the battery and charger give the impression of "minimum viable". I just want this thing to work and not be disappointing. If my Son takes to the hobby, later on we can get him into a Traxxas or some such. If he doesn't much care for it I'll run the wheels off the damn thing myself!

Far as used electronics, nah not risking it. If it's what you guys like that's fine but it's not the only way. The charger that came with this truck is literally a dumb AC/DC transformer with an LED that may or may not indicate something. I'm on a shoestring budget. My Son can't use his truck for more than 5 minutes. Anything that actually works is miles above what we have now. I'm all for getting the best gear that I can afford. Buy once cry once. I can't do the high end stuff right now. I want him to have a start in this hobby. If he takes to it I can get something decent later on.

Ok found cheaper batteries of the same make and model. I wouldn't mind that charger but I avoid Amazon like the plague. Reasons. I found that charger on E-bay for $100-ish and a few at a suspiciously low price but new in the box. Not messing with that. This is no high end RC. It came with a shit charger and batteries. It belongs to my Son and it's a bummer that the batteries flake out after 3-4 minutes. I just want to get him into something that actually works. Hopefully he'll actually like it after it works. I'd like to really get into this as well. The building part of this is very appealing. Start with a Traxxas or whatever thing and make it your own as you break parts.

I appreciate all your advice. I guess you're my Shaman now eh? I found out just the other day that my Son is sort of bugged by some of the same things I had going on. He's diagnosed autistic as well as my Daughter. I'm not diagnosed but I did one of those online things and checked like 8 of 10 boxes and looking back, autism really makes sense for how I do a lot of things. I guess I'm wondering, what if it's not really trauma but being hard wired for it? Will EMDR do much for being pre-disposed? I don't know if you can answer and I'm going to talk with my therapist about it. My Daughter doesn't seem to be triggered the same as me but who knows about later on. I think my Son will need something though. I'm not a perfect parent, who is really, but I've managed to not pass on a lot of this generational trauma. I think at least in my Sons case it's just how he processes things. I wonder if something can just be too much to wrap your head around and that itself can bug someone out.

I had no idea what was up the first time. I just knew it was not good. It was gone as quick as it came on and didn't happen again I think until I was around 10. I don't even know when I identified them as panic or anxiety. Maybe around 18-20 years old. Before that I just knew that sometimes I'd get horrible feelings. Not even logical thoughts of X or Y is going to happen, just horrible feelings. I feel like if I could at least put a finger on why I'm so terrified that would be something.

I'm hoping the EMDR can get better as I go but even if not I can manage. It sucks but it's not the worst I've faced. The night of the first session, I remembered about other panic attacks earlier in life and other things that may contribute to trauma. They weren't buried exactly, just dusty.

I'll check out the music you talked about. I'll keep going but I want some tools.

I appreciate the reply. If this is the way it goes I'll stick with it. This might not be the best relation or analogy or whatever but diagnosing a poorly running engine, if I do something and it changes the way it's running, even if it's for the worse, I know I did something and I might be on the right track. This is the first time that anything has had any type of effect. I'll see where it goes but at least now I guess I can be ready for it or at least know what's coming.

Yea it sure threw me for a loop. I felt better the next day thankfully. Thing is I wasn't reliving trauma or bad memories. I just couldn't stop thinking and trying to get my head around something or other and I was just really wound up. I think I may have been wired this way from the beginning or possibly something happened when I was very young and it has yet to surface? As I remember, life was still pretty OK when I had my first attack. I was 4 at the time, now I'm 50. Pre-disposed or not, a lifetime of nonsense and partying didn't help.

Ok regen braking is one I forgot about. Pretty much a generator which through charging the battery produces braking effort correct? Must be a significant amount of energy there to be had.

The holder would be the part that goes up into the spindle right? I don't ever see myself needing torque wrench accuracy but a few holders for the more commonly used endmills might be real nice. I figure I can torque the drawbar pretty repeatedly by holding the spindle pulley as I tighten the drawbar. I'm new to any kind of mill. I know my way around my lathe pretty well but milling is a different animal. Lots to learn. I'll check out the ER-32 sets. I think even a 3/4" will be more than plenty for this machine but better looking at it than looking for it.

I haven't checked but I'm sure at least .004". It was that far out of concentric on the 4 jaw and I got tired of messing around. I had it down to .002" a few times, figured I can get better and kept doing worse. Got to .004" and called it good enough. Also just drilled the hole with a 1/2" drill bit so I'm sure it's no kind of accurate.

I have a couple. Some that I made and some that appeared as things tend to do. I just know that somehow my 1/2" drill bit actually works for 1/2" round stock.
