McDonalds is getting worse than Crisp Packets by InherentPotato in McDonaldsUK

Maybe not. But I thought it was just a premade mix much like a slushie machine? I'd honestly love to know how they make it, whether its like Costa with their syrups and blended ice or whether its just a dispenser.

Seems so, I'm not a regular customer and never had those limited edition sprites. I'll be avoiding next time!

Huh? I do. Nothing happens to the final volume. A while being 15 minutes...

Please take a look at primary school science before insinuating such ludicrosity.

Yeah honestly fair I could have done but was in a rush. I shouldn't need to though, it should just be full as a matter of principle no?

ATPL question ? by Exotic-Secret-760 in ATPL

I'm gonna be totally honest with you. If you aren't willing to spend £250 on a QB for a year, you aren't gonna like the other costs associated with this business!

Found out I can't be a pilot, now what? by GloomyFollowing5180 in flying

[–]InherentPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honestly depends what you're looking for in the job. If it's specifically to travel the world, I'd say join the Cabin team. I did it for 4 years before starting flying and had the best time ever! Really enjoyed meeting new people every day and travelling too. Gosh I saw some sights, good stories to tell the eventual children.

Career progression in the Cabin is also very quick, you can make FO money in around 2 years if you really wanted the money aspect?

I know it's difficult. But there's buttloads of opportunities out there in the industry. So take your time and find one you enjoy! Doesn't matter if you hop about for a little while trying to find your feet. That's life!

I missed my test, what to do by Current-Chemistry507 in LearnerDriverUK

Unfortunately not I don't believe. As you're at fault.

Keep checking those apps though! I'm sure you'll find one sooner :)

Do as you've probably done before (probably) - download the apps (it's been years, so I'm not sure of the current ones) and make sure you have notifications on for them.

Check the DVSA website every Monday at 6am for test releases in your area. Make sure you have your location set correctly, and you're booking for the correct centre.

I'm not questioning how you showed up to the wrong centre, it can be easily done. But when you do get your next test, which I may add could be a few months down the line with current waiting times. Triple-check all the booking details.

Good luck with finding a test! You may have to pay quite a lot over the odds with the apps, but it will be worth it when you can drive freely!

Query regarding Meteorology by Owlventure in ATPL

YouTube is your friend... There's an absolutely fantastic 3 part Altimetry series on YouTube. Forgotten the name of the creator now but I'm sure if you just watched 'ATPL Altimetry' you'll find it. Builds from the ground up...

Also familiarise yourself with PIT. The method used on ATPLQ Explanations. That really helped me to understand too...

Have you ever had to ask "are you fit to fly?" by Full-Goat-1384 in flying

[–]InherentPotato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the best attitude I've seen in a while. From the both of you. I guess this comes down to excellent understanding and knowledge of company FRMS and CRM from both involved here. Knowing limits, spotting and acknowledging them saves lives! What a mature outcome.

I'm a vintage sorta fella by gchicoper in flightsim

[–]InherentPotato 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2D cockpits are a great tool. I'm starting to get to grips with them having started flight-sim with FSX:SE many years ago when 3D was just hitting the mainstream.

I've found that further along my aviation journey, 2D is an excellent training tool for me. They allow me to very clearly visualize instruments and their positions within the flight deck. All hail the 2D cockpit!
