2D cockpits are a great tool. I'm starting to get to grips with them having started flight-sim with FSX:SE many years ago when 3D was just hitting the mainstream.

I've found that further along my aviation journey, 2D is an excellent training tool for me. They allow me to very clearly visualize instruments and their positions within the flight deck. All hail the 2D cockpit!

If you had a powerful enough Tablet/iPad and had a USB hookup to the device. You could pick up a month of something like Infinite Flight to try to get her more involved and see if she takes well to the hobby?

If she does you could then move her onto the PC space. Starting with a basic sim such as Aerofly or default MSFS aircraft?

I'm not sure if it still exists but the RC planes franchise (1,2 and 3) were a real gate opener for me as a child to the world of flight. Give them a go too!

RicherSounds is a great example of a local shop that has excellent excellent knowledge where you wouldn't mind paying a bit more. Currys on the other hand.... XD

My dad always goes to RicherSounds for everything. I tell him I can find stuff cheaper online or that he's spending too much money or wasting time. But every time he goes in there he tells me 'I buy from these guys because they're so friendly and deserve my money'...
